The Foundation for a Sustainable Society Inc. (FSSI) is looking for an Executive Director.

The Executive Director (ED) of FSSI translates its vision, mission and goals into impactful programs and projects based on the direction and oversight provided by the Board of Trustees (BoT) of FSSI. The ED is responsible for achieving the targeted results of FSSI, ensuring its financial sustainability and its compliance with laws and regulations. The ED should lead with the highest ethical standards and transparency. The ED is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing resources, and driving the sustainable growth of FSSI. The ED acts as the primary liaison between the BoT and the staff, and builds symbiotic relationships with FSSI members, partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with:

The Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) held the Training on Business Plan Development for Social Solar Energy Enterprises (SSEEs) on September 29–30, 2026, at B Hotel, Quezon City. The two-day training aimed to strengthen the capacity of solar energy enterprises in developing viable business plans and preparing for growth and financing.

On Day 1, participants discussed key concepts, including enterprise readiness for business growth and financing, available financing options, regulatory requirements, and the development of viable business opportunities and market strategies.

On Day 2, participants applied their learnings through a business plan writeshop, developing draft business plans that articulated their business opportunities, market strategies, operational approaches, and financing requirements.

The training forms part of FSSI’s continuing efforts to support social enterprises in building sustainable and financially viable enterprises that contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable energy sector.

Yesterday, the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) participated in the Training Workshop on Carbon Footprint Calculator for Women Leaders, held at the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) in Manila.

The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of their environmental impact, the science behind climate change, and practical ways to identify and reduce their carbon footprint at the household, community, and organizational levels.

The training was organized by the National Council of Women of the Philippines (NCWP) and United Nations Association of the Philippines (UNAP) with support from Green Convergence, through its Ako ang Bukas Program, and First Philippines Holdings. FSSI participated through the invitation of its member organization, Partnership for Clean Air (PCA).

FSSI values initiatives that build the capacity of women leaders and communities to take meaningful action toward climate change mitigation and adaptation.

The Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) successfully conducted “Solar Energy Opportunities for NGOs, Cooperatives and SEs and FSSI’s Solar Loan Products” on August 18, 2026, with 27 participants from 16 organizations in attendance.

The orientation introduced the organizations to the fundamentals of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, their benefits for organizations and communities, and FSSI’s Solar Loan Products designed to support near-small to small solar energy enterprises (SSEEs), as well as NGOs, cooperatives, and social enterprises for re-lending affordable rooftop solar loans to their members or employees.

The session also provided an opportunity for participating organizations and their partners/affiliates to identify potential partnerships and explore opportunities for collaboration toward a more sustainable future.

We are honored to be recognized as a Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) Connect Champion today at the WEE Connect National Convening, today, in Quezon City. The convening brings together social enterprises and partners to celebrate champions and harvest lessons on gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and care-responsive social enterprises.

This recognition highlights FSSI’s leadership, commitment, and valuable contributions to the WEE Connect Community of Practice, advancing gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and care-responsive practices in enterprises and value chains.

Sherwin Celestino, Project Officer, and Nikki Natan, Knowledge Management, Advocacy, and Communications (KMAC) Officer, receive the award on behalf of FSSI.

Today, FSSI joins the WEE Connect National Convening, which brings together social enterprises and partners to strengthen gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and care-responsive practices.

One of today’s highlights is on "Strengthening Gender- and Care-Responsive Social Enterprises Through Policies, Systems and Organizational Culture." The discussion highlights how social enterprises develop internal policies, workplace systems, and organizational practices that advance gender equality and WEE while addressing unpaid care and domestic work.

We are glad to see Federation of Peoples' Sustainable Development Cooperative - FPSDC and Coop-Ville Multipurpose Cooperative represented in the panel. Ms. Haydee Bernal, Chief Operations Officer of FPSDC, shares FPSDC’s experience, while Ms. Mary Jane Sabut, OIC Manager of Coop-Ville Multipurpose Cooperative, contributes to the discussion.

Through a partnership with Investing In Women, FSSI and FPSDC collaborate on co-investment initiatives that support women-led enterprises, strengthen cooperatives, and scale inclusive, impact-driven businesses.
