๐ธCALLING ALL JAPANESE FILIPINO CHILDREN (JFCs)!๐บ
The syllable ba (ts) can be found in many a tree of words in both Filipino and Japanese. Ba (1) may mean place, or locality, triangulating it with other words such as basho (5)FF), bahay and bayan to talk about senses of place, home or nationhood.
For JFCs, these words may be uneasy to pin given the reality of living in between jurisdictions and cultures of two nations and carrying this experience as they grow up.
In The Word for World is Ba (15), The O Home (TOH) -an artist collective wherein one of the founders was a migrant worker and with a JFC-pairs with the JFCs organization Maligaya House (MH) to focus on artmaking and community-building.
Here, each and every one is welcome to express themselves through free-flowing discussions and art workshops regardless of skill level or background. And of course, there will be meals and drinks for sharing to bring us closer together, interwoven as ever!
