Fernando Martin Roxas: Illuminating the Future as Guest Speaker at the 2nd Philippine Power Expo
Fernando Martin “Nani” Y. Roxas, President and CEO of the National Power Corporation (NPC), will grace the 2nd Philippine Power Expo and Technical Conference as a distinguished Guest Speaker. Scheduled for May 30–31, 2025, at the Century Park Hotel in Malate, Manila, this premier event, themed “Philippine Power Transformation: Accelerating to a Clean and Sustainable Energy Future,” will spotlight Roxas’s visionary leadership in advancing sustainable energy solutions across the Philippines. His participation promises to draw delegates and sponsors eager to hear from a seasoned expert steering NPC toward a greener tomorrow.
A Legacy of Leadership in Energy and Sustainability
Appointed on September 30, 2022, by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Roxas brings decades of expertise to NPC, a government-owned corporation tasked with missionary electrification, watershed management, and operating the Agus and Pulangui Hydropower Complexes in Mindanao (NPC President’s Corner). With a career rooted in sustainable energy systems, Roxas has held pivotal roles within NPC, including geologist in 1978, manager of the Corporate Planning Group in 1990, and leader of the ad hoc group that crafted the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) of 2001. His academic credentials—degrees in Geology from the University of the Philippines, Engineering Geology from the Asian Institute of Technology, an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from De La Salle University—further underscore his deep understanding of energy and sustainability.
Beyond NPC, Roxas has been a professor at the Asian Institute of Management for over 20 years, teaching Systems Thinking and Operations Management, and served as a consultant to global institutions like the World Bank and Asian Development Bank. His work in sustainable tourism as Executive Director of the Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism highlights his interdisciplinary approach to development.
Philippine Power Expo is a joint project of the PSME Foundation and the Power Professionals Association of the Philippines.
