Urgent Call to Protect Migrants’ Rights!
Labor migration continues to increase across the world due to both push and pull factors. Many workers leave their homes out of necessity driven by poverty, low wages, lack of job opportunities, limited social benefits, and unsafe working conditions. At the same time, the increasing demand for labor in destination countries, especially in the care sector, aging populations, labor shortages, and low birth rates, continue to fuel the demand for migrant workers, including caregivers, and domestic workers.
Migrant workers significantly contribute to economies and societies, yet many remain vulnerable to exploitation, abuse, discrimination, and unsafe working conditions. As governments and institutions discuss the future of migration, we must resist harmful narratives and ensure that migrant workers are not left behind.
Migrants deserve more than recognition. Migrants deserve protection, dignity, and equal rights.
Migrant rights are human rights.
