THE death toll from the powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Maasim, Sarangani has increased to 78, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

7 days after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck several areas in Mindanao individuals are still struggling to get by on their day to day survival…there are families who are isolated and hardly reached by relief assistance.

Accdg to the Office of the Civil Defense update, as of 15 June, death toll rose to 65 persons, missing persons 36, injured 1,447.
176, 186 families are affected (736,386 individuals) accross 512 towns.

It is unimaginable how these people especially the children are coping up with the trauma they experienced not to mention the physical discomfort as they are left without a choice but to stay in make-shift tents because they were displaced from their houses, including the elderly and those suffering from illness even before the disaster happened.

Team JESUS volunteers will go without much to give but to let them know that there are people who care to share the love of GOD to them by merely being present and are mindful. We will conduct trauma counseling and distribution of essential kits and ready-to-eat-food.

Any amount can be a blessing and can go a long way to alleviate their suffering even just for a couple of days.
