Have you ever wondered what that huge rocks at the entrance of the National Museum of National History?

These rocks came from the Mayon Volcano which was collected all the way from the province of Albay, Bicol when it erupted in 1814.

It is part of the ejected volcanic material with ash fall and pyroclastic surges that buried the structures of the town that surrounds the volcano.

The National Museum used the gigantic rocks to be the main attraction at the visitors' entrance to highlight the rich geological diversity of the Philippines.

Aside from being a national cultural treasure, it is a reminder of the Mayon Volcano’s devastative power.

| Batay sa rekomendasyon ng Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO), suspendido ang panghapong klase sa lahat ng antas sa pampublikong paaralan sa lungsod September 22, 2023 dahil sa smog formation.

Pinapayuhan ang lahat na mag-ingat at manatili sa inyong tahanan at limitahan ang paglabas ng bahay at magsuot ng face mask.

Magtungo agad sa pinakamalapit na health center o ospital sakaling makaramdam ng hirap sa paghinga o iba pang kondisyong dulot ng volcanic smog.
