Angat Kalikasan Pilipinas

Angat Kalikasan Pilipinas A volunteer-driven movement for the conservation of the environment and for the empowerment of Indigenous People Integrity. Accountability. Purpose-driven.

ANGAT KALIKASAN PILIPINAS (AKaP)

ORGANIZATIONAL STATEMENT:

Angat Kalikasan Pilipinas (AKaP) is a national collaborative movement that harnesses empowered volunteerism to engage communities, leaders, and stakeholders in the issues and solutions pertaining to the environment and the Indigenous People’s rights, with the ultimate goal of achieving good governance and nation building. VISION:

A ju

st nation committed to protect, restore, and nurture our natural resources for the benefit and quality of life of Filipinos, especially the marginalized and minorities. MISSION:

To form a platform for likeminded volunteers who collaborate to find sustainable solutions to issues affecting the environment and IP rights. PROFILE/DESCRIPTION:

Heeding the call of former VP Leni Robredo to continue the spirit of volunteerism to address the needs of the Filipinos through Angat Buhay NGO, AKaP was formed as a separate entity to focus on one yet interrelated and crucial aspect of true and lasting national development- that of the environment and the rights of its inhabitants. AKaP identifies three pressing issues faced in the country:

1. Poor governance that leads to policy failure and the policy-implementation gap
2. Lack of engagement or disconnect with communities in need of help
3. Lack of awareness and proper education among the public

AKaP is committed to addressing these problems through the following objectives:

OBJECTIVES:

1. To cultivate our ability and consciousness to participate in public policies by acting as watchdogs, advocates, mobilizers, educators, researchers, infomediaries, and policy analysts

2. To immerse and engage in grassroot communities in a way that respects the right of all community members to be informed, consulted, involved, and empowered, in order to achieve long-term and sustainable outcomes, processes, relationships, and discourse

3. To create awareness and educate the public on pressing economic, environmental, and socio-political problems while fighting disinformation

VALUES

1. Acting with strong ethics, even in the face of adversity, is a priority for everyone representing the organization as well as the organization’s behavior as a whole. Demonstrating this value is integral to gaining the trust of our fellow volunteers, members, and partners. Integrity requires adherence to truth, honesty, authenticity, and transparency at all times.

2. Accepting responsibility for our actions, individually and collectively. It involves taking ownership of our work and honoring and meeting our commitments. It centers around personal responsibility and reliability and includes taking initiatives.

3. Diversity and Inclusion. Creating a sense of belonging and welcoming environment where a variety of skills, range of backgrounds, culture, socio-economic status, and experiences come together as one. We want to ensure that every volunteer or member feels respected, supported, valued, and included in decisions, opportunities, and challenges, giving everyone equal opportunity, and allowing them to bring their authentic selves.

4. Committed to achieving our goals and objectives as an organization, and going beyond what is expected from us, thereby making a difference through our decisions and strategies. It’s bringing more meaning to what we do, creating something greater than ourselves and keeping our VMO in mind and heart even in the smallest
day-to-day tasks.

5. Compassion. To be genuinely concerned about other people’s needs and to be able to feel for others, especially when their situation is different from our own. It entails thinking and feeling from others’ perspective and taking action to go out of our comfort zone to help. This value is very crucial in the organization’s community engagements. When we have compassion, we are more likely to surface everyone’s underlying needs and makes it easier to generate commitment. This value encompasses being humble, empathetic, selfless, and non-judgmental.

6. Passion. When we are passionate, we strive for continuous learning which is a steppingstone to excellence. When we are passionate, we find joy in the things we do. Passion develops us to be bold, dynamic, innovative, and creative.

𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝘁. 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴! 🌿🥰

Our 2nd Advocacy Hike last April 25, 2026, was truly a refreshing and memorable experience for everyone.

This brought participants closer to nature through a trek to Mt. Makiling, a refreshing dip at Flat Rocks, and a learning journey on the mountain’s rich biodiversity.

Through a biodiversity talk by Dr. Arvin Diesmos and a guided visit to the Makiling Botanical Garden, participants gained a deeper appreciation of the Philippines’ unique flora and fauna.

More than just an adventure, the Mt. Makiling hike became a meaningful reminder that while we enjoy nature’s beauty, we also share the responsibility of protecting and caring for it.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆! 🌊✨

We share this planet with gentle giants, tiny architects, and deep-sea mysteries, they are the residents of our blue planet.

🐋 The Gentle Giants: The massive Blue Whale alongside the majestic, filter-feeding Whale Shark.
🐙 The Masters of Adaptation: The intricate Leafy Seadragon hiding in plain sight and the brilliantly patterned Blue-Ringed Octopus.
🏮 The Deep Dwellers- The eerie, glowing Humpback Anglerfish holding down the abyss.
🐢 The Reef Neighbors- Vibrant Clownfish tucked safely into anemones, Dugongs grazing on seagrass, and Green Sea Turtles cruising the currents.

From our coastal shallows down to the pitch-black midnight zone, our global ocean has a breathtaking diversity.

A "home" for every single of these species that play a vital and irreplaceable role in keeping our ecosystem alive.
