🧠 Cancer affects more than the body.

A diagnosis can bring fear, uncertainty, exhaustion, grief, hope—and many emotions in between.

On World Mental Health Day, we are reminded that caring for a person with cancer means caring for the whole person—their physical, emotional, social, and psychological needs.

Sometimes, support begins with something simple:
“Kumusta ka talaga?”

Let’s create spaces where people can speak, listen, ask for help, and feel less alone.
Because mental health is part of cancer care.

💜 Care that sees the whole person is care that truly cares.

🌏 FROM THE PHILIPPINES TO THE GLOBAL CANCER COMMUNITY 💜

What happens when Filipino cancer advocates come together with the global cancer community? Ideas are shared. Partnerships grow. And local experiences become part of a bigger conversation for better cancer care.

The PCS Cancer Commission Foundation (PCS CanCom) was proud to participate in the UICC World Cancer Congress in Hong Kong, joining cancer leaders, healthcare professionals, advocates, researchers, policymakers, and people affected by cancer from around the world.

We are especially proud to celebrate the active participation of our PCS CanCom Board of Directors:

💜 Ms. Menchie Auste
💜 Ms. Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala
💜 Dr. Ramy Roxas
💜 Dr. Ida Lim

who contributed as speakers and facilitators, bringing Filipino perspectives, experiences, and insights into the global cancer-control conversation.

And a special CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉👏 to Dr. Ida Lim, whose abstract, “National Thyroid Cancer Summit,” was accepted and exhibited during the Congress!

These moments remind us that the work we do in the Philippines is part of a much bigger movement, one that calls for collaboration, equity, innovation, and person-centered cancer care.

We learn from the world, share what we have learned, and bring these connections home, turning conversations into action for Filipino communities. 💜

Proudly Filipino. Globally connected. United for better cancer care.

It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Timely diagnosis saves lives. Take a second look 👀 at your breasts.⁣ If you notice changes to your breasts, such as a lump, pitting of the skin or pain, go and see a health practitioner for a check-up. ⁣
⁣
Most breast lumps are not cancerous. Those that are, can be more effectively treated if identified early.

✅ Check your breasts ⁣
✅ Get screened regularly ⁣
✅ See your doctor ⁣
✅ Get your annual mammogram done

🎀 FROM DISCUSSION TO COMMITMENT. FROM COMMITMENT TO ACTION.

PCS Cancer Commission Foundation was proud to fully support Patient Power Philippines 2026, organized by the ICanServe Foundation, with the theme:
“Advancing to Action: Advancing the Global Breast Cancer Initiative.”

For two days, patients, survivors, advocates, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and partners came together to listen, share experiences, and explore how global breast cancer goals can become meaningful action for Filipino women.

We are proud that members of the PCS CanCom Board and leadership actively contributed as speakers, panelists, facilitators, and session chairs:
Manuel Francisco T. Roxas, MD, Chairman Emeritus, Tefel Pesigan-Valentino, Executive Director • Necy S. Juat, MD, Director for Collaborations Board Members: Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala • Carmen V. Auste • Alfonso Nunez III • Christina Galvez, MD • ❤️

Because patients must not only be part of the conversation. Their voices must help shape the action.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, PCS CanCom continues to stand with partners who believe that meaningful change happens when we listen, collaborate, commit, and act—together.

The summit may have ended. The work continues. 🎀

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer care begins long before treatment. It begins with awareness, early action, access, and people who know where to turn.

This month, PCS Cancer Commission Foundation joins communities across the country in reminding every Filipino: Know your breasts. Know your risks. Know where to seek help.

Because early detection matters. And no one should have to navigate cancer alone.
Let’s make quality, person-centered cancer care closer to every Filipino—from the community, to the health system, to the care that every person deserves.

💗 Together, let’s make every step count.

MEN, KNOW YOUR RISK. KNOW YOUR HEALTH. 💙

This Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, PCS Cancer Commission Foundation joins the Department of Health (DOH) in raising awareness about prostate cancer and the importance of knowing your risk and seeking timely medical advice.

Awareness is more than knowing the name of a disease.
It means knowing what to watch for, understanding your risk, and knowing when to seek professional guidance.

At PCS CanCom, we believe that quality cancer care begins with awareness, early action, and access to the right care—when it matters.

Let’s encourage the men in our families and communities to take their health seriously and have informed conversations with their healthcare providers.
