“Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.” — JFK
It all started as a simple school project.
When my son JC was in 6th grade, he asked me if I could explain to him about Barangay LGU, ordinances, etc. as part of his AP (Araling Panlipunan or Social Studies) project; and as a young student, how he can extend help to the local community during the pandemic. Having an independent mind of his own, I asked him if he noticed something different outside. His answer was “kids… there are more kids now than before”. I asked him why and he replied that maybe their parents don’t have enough money to send them to school cause maybe their office got closed due to Covid.
I was amazed by his young mind when he listed steps on how he can help those kids by creating a program for their parents in getting extra income; from sending out surveys to know their skill sets, to assigning tasks depending on their skills and producing products or services that the parents can sell during this pandemic. I was so proud and thought that hindi lang ata puro kapilosopohan ang alam ng batang ito 🤣 (o baka gusto lang tumakas para di maturuan kung paano mag-araro🤔😂)
So I asked him if he will going to propose a cooperative or co-op, but he asked “What’s a cooperative”🤦🏻♂️. Instead of explaining to him how cooperative and profit-sharing works, he settled for a charity organization… and Angat Foundation (pending SEC Registration approval) was born.
Please support him in his simple way to SHARE even an ounce of HAPPINESS and give HOPE to the less fortunate kids during these challenging times by making a donation through the following link: https://fnd.us/angat4filipinoyouth. Your donation, whether big or small will make a big difference and will be appreciated greatly! Thank you!
Angat Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to uplift the lives of less fortunate Filipino kids by extending assistance to improve their well-being, health and education.
