To what lengths would people go to obtain 𝒈𝒐𝒍𝒅?

Due to its extreme rarity and economic value, gold is still found to be the most sought after metals today. This is evident in countries such as Ghana, where businesses thrive through their gold mining operations and abundance of the metal. We must remember, however, that not all gold mining operations are ethical. In the search for gold, illegal gold mining operations referred to as 𝒈𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒔𝒆𝒚 have taken Ghana by storm due to the “mad gold rush”. These practices may be more efficient in obtaining gold, but cost us our ecological and societal health. Our environment and lives must not be compromised through this process. Let us ensure that we are knowledgeable about the different gold mining practices and understand how they affect our societies today. Let us not become ignorant or weary of the sociopolitical concerns that continue to appear in the news while the world keeps shaking and bombarding our newsfeeds with stories about violence and other similar topics. Because it is so overwhelming, the shocking and terrible news we see everyday wears us out. However, if the mere sight of these situations exhausts us, it is critical to recognize the difficulties encountered by those directly affected, who lack the advantages many of us take for granted. Ngayong Araw ng Kagitingan, inaalala natin ang tapang at sakripisyo ng mga sundalo na lumaban sa Bataan noong Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig. Matapos ang mahigit tatlong buwang matinding labanan, bumagsak ang Bataan noong Abril 9, 1942, na nagresulta sa Bataan Death March—isang malupit na paglalakad ng mahigit 100 kilometro patungo sa mga kampong piitan.

Bilang pagkilala sa kanilang kabayanihan, itinayo ang Dambana ng Kagitingan sa Bundok Samat, isang bantayog na sumasagisag sa kanilang kabayanihan at hindi matinag na diwa ng mga Pilipino.

Today, April 2, we celebrate World Autism Awareness Day to promote understanding, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals on the autism spectrum 🧩.

According to the Autism Society Philippines, approximately 1.2 million individuals in the country have autism as of 2018—a number that has only increased since. Autism presents unique challenges in a world not designed for neurodiversity, demanding meaningful societal change 💡.

This year’s theme, “Advancing Neurodiversity and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” sheds light on how inclusion 🫂 drives global progress ⏩. Through inclusive policies and practices, everyone can create transformative change that empowers 🤲 people with autism to thrive as valued members of society 🌐.

Upholding autism awareness means committing to a world where differences are celebrated🙌 and no one is left behind 🤝. Together, let’s challenge stereotypes and push for lasting inclusion ♾️.

Eid Mubarak! 🕌☪️

Eid Mubarak ay isang Arabic na pahayag na nangangahulugang “banal na kapistahan.” Ang ika-1 ng Abril ay idineklarang regular na holiday sa buong bansa bilang paggalang sa Eid Al-Fitir, isang tanda ng pagdiriwang sa katapusan ng Ramadan—isang sagradong buwan na puno ng pag-aayuno 🍽️, pagdadasal 🤲, at espirituwal na pagmumuni-muni 💭. Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay sumisimbolo sa pagpapababago, pasasalamat kay Allah, at pagpapalakas ng pananampalataya.

Ngayon araw, ang mga pamilya at mga komunidad ay nagsasama-sama sa mga mosque para sa mga espesyal na panalangin, kasunod ay mga salo-salo, pagbibigay ng regalo, at pagbisita sa mga mahal sa buhay na ginagawang mas espesyal ng okasyon.❤️🤝

Sa pag gunita natin ng okasyon na ito, pinapalakas natin ang paggalang, pagkakaiba at pagkakaisa ng mga relihiyon 🙇‍♀️. Muli, Eid Mubarak! Nawa’y maging mapagpala ang pagdiriwang na ito at magdala ng saya, kapayapaan at kaunlaran 🌙💫
