DAPAT ISA LANG ON THE MOVE | In collaboration with The Roman Catholic Diocese of Butuan through the Commission on Social Action – Justice and Peace, Immaculate Conception Parish – Butuan City will hold an information and signature campaign activity titled:

“DAPAT ISA LANG!: ANTI-POLITICAL DYNASTY SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN”

This activity will provide information about the People’s Initiative, the proposed Anti-Political Dynasty law, and its relevance to Article II, Section 26 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution.

Anti-Political Dynasty Signature Campaign

DAPAT ISA LANG IN THE NEWS | On August 5, 2026, the Grade 11, Grade 12, and college students of Pilar College of Zamboanga City, Inc. gathered at the Mother Ignacia Gymnasium for a seminar on political dynasty, with Ms. Mary Elizabeth Apolonio as the guest speaker.

During the seminar, Ms. Apolonio discussed the Dapat Isa Lang movement, a people’s initiative campaign that aims to address the issue of political dynasties in the Philippines. She highlighted the campaign’s three core values—Dapat Bukás, Dapat Tapat, and Dapat Kaisa—which promote transparency, accountability, and unity in governance. She also emphasized the importance of citizens taking an active role in strengthening democracy.

Through the seminar, students gained a deeper understanding of why it is important to address political dynasties in the Philippines. They were encouraged to become informed, responsible, and engaged citizens who actively contribute to shaping the nation's future.

After all, if not us, then who will?

It's been raining in Manila, hindi ka pa ba GALIT! 🌧️

Sa patuloy na pag-ulan, ilang lugar na naman sa Pilipinas ang nakakaranas ng matinding pagbaha. Paulit-ulit na lang: baha, stranded, suspended, at mga pamilyang napipilitang lumikas.

Hanggang kailan tayo magtitiis sa ganitong paulit-ulit na karanasan? At paano natin masisiguro na ang pamamahala ay hindi nauuwi sa iilang pamilya lang, kundi tunay na may pananagutan sa taumbayan?

Kaya, 'wag nang magpaka-Lola Amour. May pirmahan na paparating. 👀✍️

Dapat Isa Lang

Political awareness and civic participation are important in building a responsible and democratic society. Being politically aware allows citizens to understand issues that affect their lives, evaluate information critically, and make informed decisions.

Civic participation goes beyond voting. It includes engaging in community activities, promoting accountability, and taking part in discussions and initiatives that seek positive change. One example is the Dapat Isa Movement, a citizens’ initiative that advocates for a genuine Anti-Political Dynasty Law through the People's Initiative process. It encourages public awareness and participation in promoting good governance, equal opportunities, and responsible leadership.

Through political awareness and active citizenship, individuals become empowered to contribute to nation-building and help create a society founded on integrity, accountability, and the common good.

Dapat Isa Lang on the Move | Noong July 11 at 12, nagsagawa ang Public Affairs Ministry ng isang Signature Drive bilang pakikiisa sa kampanyang Dapat Isa Lang.

Naglagay ng booth sa labas ng simbahan upang mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga mananampalataya na makapagbigay ng kanilang lagda bilang pagsuporta sa panukalang naglalayong tugunan ang suliranin ng political dynasties at itaguyod ang mas malawak na partisipasyon sa pamumuno at paglilingkod-bayan.

Ayon sa petisyon, layunin nitong limitahan ang paghawak ng magkamag-anak sa mga halal na posisyon hanggang sa ikaapat na antas ng consanguinity o affinity, magpatupad ng cooling-off period pagkatapos ng term limits, at magtakda ng mekanismo upang maresolba ang mga magkakasalungat na kandidatura o panunungkulan sa loob ng isang political dynasty.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nakiisa at naglaan ng oras upang makilahok sa gawaing ito. Ang bawat lagda ay hindi lamang tanda ng suporta sa isang panukala, kundi isang pagpapahayag ng malasakit para sa kinabukasan ng ating pamayanan at bansa.

Patuloy nating isabuhay ang ating pananagutan bilang mga Kristiyano at mamamayan—na maging tagapagtaguyod ng katotohanan, katarungan, at kabutihang panlahat. 🙏🇵🇭

Kamakailan lamang, umugong ang usap-usapan tungkol sa panukalang Anti-Political Dynasty Bill na inihain ni Ilocos Norte Representative Sandro Marcos at House Speaker Bojie Dy. Ayon sa mga progresibong grupo, hindi ito isang “tunay” na panukalang nagbabawal sa political dynasty; sa halip, ginagawa pa umano nitong lehitimo ang ganitong sistema.

Bilang tugon, noong Mayo 8 ay inilunsad ng mga abogado, grupong pangsimbahan, at ilang Katolikong pamantasan ang kampanyang “Dapat Isa Lang,” isang people’s initiative na naglalayong isulong ang isang “genuine” na Anti-Political Dynasty Bill.

Upang maisabatas ang panukalang ito, kinakailangan ang humigit-kumulang pitong milyong lagda, o katumbas ng sampung porsyento ng kabuuang bilang ng mga rehistradong botante sa bansa.

Sa pagtatapos ng Hulyo, makikiisa ang komunidad ng HAU sa Dapat Isa Lang movement. Maaaring lumagda ang mga rehistradong botanteng Angelites sa University Theatre sa Hulyo 28, mula 1:00 hanggang 6:00 p.m. Samantala, maaari ring makiisa sa petition signing sa Hulyo 29 sa HAU Student Center, mula 8:00 a.m. hanggang 6:00 p.m.

DAPAT ISA LANG ON THE MOVE | Dapat Isa Lang Movement – Training of Trainers 2026
Every movement begins with formation. As we deepen our commitment to advancing the Dapat Isa Lang Movement, we also deepen our understanding of the issues we seek to address, strengthen our capacity to engage communities, and build friendships rooted in a shared mission of service.

True to the Ateneo de Davao formation, this training reminds us that leadership is not only about advocating for change—it is about becoming persons who discern wisely, act justly, and serve the common good with competence, compassion, and integrity.

The ADDU Community Engagement and Sustainable Development Office (CESDO), Ateneo Public Interest and Legal Advocacy (APILA) and AdDU Blue Vote extend our deepest gratitude to our mentors and resource speakers for their generous accompaniment of our volunteers, who now serve as trainers for the movement:
‣ Mr. Neil Ryan Pancho, for providing an overview of the landscape of political dynasties in the Philippines;
‣ Ms. Ma. Victoria "Mags" Maglana, for discussing why political dynasties are inimical to national development;
