The UP Travel Society proudly congratulates 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗰𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀-𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮, a graduate of UP AIT and a UPTS alumna from Batch 13A, for 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗮 at the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan! 🥉

On September 22, 2026, Ricca, alongside teammates Samantha Veguillas and Ysabielle Arrogante, secured the bronze medal after defeating Thailand, 4–1, in the battle for third place. Their victory earned the Philippines its third bronze medal of the Games, showcasing the team’s discipline, dedication, and determination on the international stage.

Ricca’s achievements extend beyond the Asian Games. In July 2026, she also earned 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗮 and 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗮 at the 𝟭𝟯𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱𝗼 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 in Vietnam.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Ricca carries with her the experiences and friendships she gained through UPTS. In her words, “UPTS really became a training ground for me to speak with confidence and be a better leader everyday. Big shoutout to my TS family, especially Pato, Laih, Allysiu, Kei, Jak, Sammee, Jas, Von, and our other friends. I love TS!”

Your UPTS family is incredibly proud of you, Ricca! May this milestone be one of many more achievements to come. You inspire not only fellow Iskolars but also aspiring Filipino athletes to keep striving for excellence. 💙💛

On September 30, 2026, the members of the 𝗨𝗣 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 namely Jannaika Joviamei Vergara (President), Amanda Santos (Executive VP), Erika Paguibitan (VP for Operations, and Charlize Lazo (VP for Publicity and Promotions) took their oath of office during the 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗼, organized by the UP Asian Institute of Tourism Student Council.

The event was also graced by UP Diliman Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Jose Carlo G. de Pano, AIT Dean Giovanni Francis Legaspi, and AIT Institute Secretary Carmela Ibañez, whose presence underscored the importance of student leadership and service within and beyond the university.

The oathtaking ceremony marked the beginning of another year of leadership, service, and commitment—not only to the Asian Institute of Tourism, but also to the communities that UPTS continues to serve.

“And if we are to make tourism truly makabayan, then our responsibility as future tourism practitioners goes beyond promoting places. We should make a difference. This is the commitment that the UP Travel Society continues to carry. Our organization, now in its 39th year, will forever remain as an avenue where we all share the love for travel through the means of community and service,” said UPTS President Vergara in her Expression of Commitment.

Though unable to attend the ceremony, Allyssa De Lumen (Vice President for External Affairs) and Carmela Castro (Vice President for Finance) likewise carry this commitment as the organization moves forward and strives to strengthen the heart of tourism: its people.

Here’s to journeys that go beyond destinations, and to a year of making every journey count. ✈️💙
