The 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 at World Citi Colleges- Quezon City (WCC-QC) is designed to recognize and honor graduating World Citizens who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to serving others and contributing positively to the local and global community.

The rationale for this award is rooted in the core values and mission of WCC, which emphasize the importance of social responsibility, civic engagement, and the development of compassionate, well-rounded individuals.

It celebrates the selfless contributions of individuals and groups who have dedicated their time and effort to serve others. By recognizing these exemplary actions, WCC not only honors those who have made a difference but also encourages the entire community to strive for excellence in service and social responsibility.

𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚:
-A graduating student of school year 2025-2026.
-Supported the community extension activities of WCC-QC
-Only activities recognized by Community Extension and Services Office (CESO) shall be given due points in the review and selection process.

𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒
𝑵𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: Students can be nominated by peers, faculty, or community members. Self-nominations are also accepted.

𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: Nominated students are required to submit an application through a digital bid book detailing their community service activities, including specific projects, roles, and outcomes to be submitted at https://forms.gle/4pAY3H3GWiqsjTTR9

𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘: A committee of faculty and community leaders reviews the applications based on the established criteria.

𝑺𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: The committee selects awardees who have demonstrated outstanding service and met or exceeded the criteria.

𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚:

𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕 (25%): The extent to which your participation positively impacted the community.

𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 (20%): Your ability to lead and inspire others in community engagement efforts.

𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒕𝒉 (20%): Your ability to reflect on your experiences and demonstrate personal and professional growth as a result of your community engagement.

𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (20%): Your ability to work collaboratively with community members, organizations, and other stakeholders.

𝑬𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (15%): The quality and relevance of the evidence and documentation provided to support your description of activities and impact.

TRASHformation Promotes Sustainability Through Creative Waste Innovation

The TRASHformation: Transforming Trashes, Transforming Futures program was successfully conducted through the collaborative efforts of World Citi Colleges – Quezon City CESO, Soroptimist International of Founder Manila, and the Rotary Club of Valenzuela Sunrise.

The initiative introduced students to the growing concern on plastic waste and highlighted practical ways to convert discarded materials into useful and income-generating products turning “trash to cash.”

A key highlight of the activity was the demonstration by the RadTech Student Council, showcasing how used X-ray films can be creatively repurposed into lampshades and chessboard pieces.

Students also participated in a collaborative brainstorming session, generating innovative upcycling ideas such as transforming discarded microscope slides into chandelier glass accents and utilizing plastic tubes for decorative materials.

Through TRASHformation, participants deepened their environmental awareness while showcasing creativity and innovation in sustainable waste management.

Interested barangay/ must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) addressed to:

The Community Extension Services Office
World Citi Colleges- Quezon City

The LOI must clearly discuss the following:
- Describe the current needs and priority concerns of the community and explain how these align with WCC’s community extension thrusts: Health, Education and Environment, Livelihood and Skills Development, and People Empowerment (HELP)-
- Emphasize how the partnership will support the barangay’s development goals while fulfilling WCC’s institutional mandate for social responsibility.
- Explain the community’s capacity to maintain and continue the benefits of proposed projects beyond WCC’s direct involvement.
- Discuss the expected social, economic, and environmental benefits of the partnership.

If the nomination is initiated by WCC–Quezon City stakeholders (faculty, administrators, students, offices, or partner units), a Conforme or written endorsement from the Barangay Council must be attached to the Letter of Intent to indicate the barangay’s official consent to the nomination.

On January 16, 2026, World Citi Colleges in conjunction with the Community
Extension and Services Office, executed Project Hatag 2025 in Sitio Tuoy,
Cuyambay Rizal, an impactful outreach initiative rooted in compassion, collective
responsibility, and the genuine essence of service.

Through the unwavering commitment of devoted volunteers who generously
offered their time and presence, the project successfully delivered gift groceries to
70 families, providing essential support to households and reinforcing the
community’s dignity, strength, and significance. Beyond mere distribution, the
initiative emerged as a profound manifestation of bayanihan, a moment where
kindness transformed into action, and solidarity spoke the language of hope.

In Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal Sitio Tuoy is celebrated for its picturesque rural
landscape, vibrant agricultural essence, and deep-rooted sense of community.
However, akin to numerous remote and elevated locations in the Philippines, it
may encounter difficulties such as restricted access to healthcare, inconsistent
availability of essential goods, economic hardships, educational disparities, and
infrastructural shortcomings.
