Why is Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) Philippines handling a massive shoe donation?

Let us be clear: rescuing quality surplus food to nourish empty plates will always be our number one priority.

But when a generous donor reached out with nearly 2,000 items, we saw an opportunity we simply couldn’t turn down. Through our Soles & Sustenance project, we are rescuing these branded shoes and apparel from ending up in a landfill, and using them to bring an extra layer of support to the same communities we regularly feed!

While our main mission is filling stomachs, we are always happy to help equip our partner communities for their daily lives when an unexpected blessing like this comes along.
