Humanitarian and development NGO Rationale and Mission of Balay Silong
1. Various factors that contributes to vulnerability of the communities to any disaster is the issue of economic poverty of the majority of the people and natural and man-made hazards in the country. Hence, Balay Silong is being pursued for the people in the margin to be empowered and be aware of their own vulnerabilities a
nd capacities.
2. Balay Silong shall pursue scientific education and help provide knowledge and skills in the vulnerable communities in partnership with scientific communities on the knowledge of Geo hazards and facilitate them to be more prepared of the incoming disaster.
3. It will advocate for policy making and programs towards a community based Disaster management and disaster leadership management in partnership with academic communities and organizations and institutions.
4. This organization shall also facilitate relief and rehabilitation of the communities affected by Disaster and help them go beyond recovery and resiliency.
