Bestlink College of the Philippines (BCP) Management and selected BSENTREP faculty members participated in an Educational and Institutional Benchmarking Visit at the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) on May 29, 2026, as part of the 26th Joint Multidisciplinary Research Conference (26JMRC) Programme.

The benchmarking activity provided an opportunity to observe and learn from SIM's best practices in academic management, student services, learning environments, institutional facilities, and quality assurance systems. Through this international exposure, the BCP delegation gained valuable insights into innovative strategies and global standards that contribute to academic excellence and institutional effectiveness.

More than a learning visit, the benchmarking experience encouraged the exchange of ideas, professional reflection, and the exploration of practices that may be adapted to further strengthen BCP's commitment to delivering quality education and responsive academic programs.

This meaningful engagement highlights the importance of benchmarking as a tool for continuous improvement, innovation, and institutional development in higher education.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and the Ascendens Asia International Research Institute (AAIRI) for facilitating this enriching international benchmarking experience.

Learning from global best practices today to build stronger institutions tomorrow.

From Student Entrepreneurs to Successful Business Owners

The Entrepreneurial Journey Begins

Rosemarie Araneta and Emedilyn Jabinar, proud graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSENTREP) program, Batch 2025, have successfully transformed their entrepreneurial aspirations into reality. Today, they are established business owners whose journey began within the halls of BCP, where they developed the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to thrive in the business world.

During their college years, they actively engaged in research, business planning, and business implementation activities. These experiences strengthened their entrepreneurial competencies and fueled their determination to establish ventures of their own.

Lessons Learned Beyond the Classroom

Like many students, Rosemarie and Emedilyn often questioned the purpose of certain academic requirements and activities. However, as they progressed through the program, they came to understand that every project, challenge, and learning experience contributed significantly to their personal and professional growth.

The BSENTREP program provided them with more than theoretical knowledgeโ€”it taught them resilience, adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving. They learned to appreciate not only their successes but also the challenges and setbacks that helped shape them into capable entrepreneurs.

Turning Dreams into Reality

Shortly after graduation, instead of taking a break, Rosemarie and Emedilyn immediately pursued entrepreneurship. Utilizing the capital they accumulated through their business implementation project, they launched an online digital camera business.

Although they initially had limited knowledge about digital cameras, they possessed a solid understanding of business management and entrepreneurship. Starting with a modest four-digit investment, they applied discipline, strategic planning, and persistence to grow their venture. Within seven months, they achieved their first six-digit income, enabling them to expand and establish another businessโ€”the coffee shop they had long envisioned: Pixpresso Cafรฉ.

The Formula for Business Success

According to Rosemarie and Emedilyn, while many people consider failure a necessary part of success, they believe that discipline, strategy, and patience are the true foundations of a successful business. Their journey demonstrates that with clear goals, consistent effort, and a strong entrepreneurial mindset, remarkable achievements are possible.

An Inspiring Message to Future Entrepreneurs

Rosemarie and Emedilyn encourage current BSENTREP students to fully embrace their entrepreneurial journey. They emphasize that choosing entrepreneurship is not a coincidence but a purposeful decision that can open doors to countless opportunities.

They credit BCP and its dedicated professors for helping prepare them for the realities of business and life. Through quality education, practical experiences, and mentorship, they were equipped with the tools needed to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship.

As future graduates pursue their own dreams, they offer this advice: combine your diploma and degree with a positive mindset, strong discipline, and a clear life strategy. These qualities will help turn aspirations into accomplishments.

โ€œYour degree opens opportunities, but your mindset, discipline, and strategy will determine your success.โ€
