UNDERSTANDING ROAD SIGNS: Pedestrian Crossing Ahead & Slow Down Ped Xing Ahead

Have you seen these signs while driving? “Pedestrian Crossing Ahead” and “Slow Down Ped Xing Ahead” are reminders that you’re approaching a designated pedestrian crossing.

When you see these signs, slow down, stay alert, and be ready to yield to pedestrians who are crossing or about to cross.

A few extra seconds of patience can make a big difference. Let’s help keep our roads safe for everyone, including drivers, pedestrians, and all road users.

On July 31, 2026, at 9:00 AM, the Automobile Association of the Philippines conducted its Stay bright for Kids under the Biyahero program at University of Batangas, with a total of 300 participants.
We aim to empower students with knowledge that they can apply not only inside the school but also on their daily journeys to and from home.

The students were taught the importance of being visible on the road and were encouraged to be smart pedestrians and advocates for road safety in their communities. By instilling these essential skills and awareness, we hope to foster a generation that prioritizes safety and responsibility on the roads.

Expressways and Skyways are engineered for high-speed travel. However, designed speed limits are strictly enforced for the safety of motorists.

Higher speeds significantly reduces reaction time and increase braking distance. Additionaly, disobeying these speed limits frequently leads to catastrophic road crashes.

As a way to prevent road crashes, speed limits are enforced to ensure that drivers have enough time and distance to react to sudden hazards and maintain a smooth traffic flow.

‎If you're drinking, don't drive. Choose one friend to stay sober and be the designated driver, or book a ride home. One responsible decision can save lives.

‎Remember, drunk driving is against the law under the Republic Act No. 10586 or the Drunk and Drugged Driving Act. More importantly, it puts your life, your passengers, and everyone on the road at risk.
