CFA GAD committee discusses plans for the year and visits an exhibit of women artists this Women's Month at Gallery 119!

"WALANG KOKORAP"

A Collective Statement:

Corruption is a metastasizing force that undermines the very foundations of our society. We, as women artists, refuse to look away. We wield our creativity as a form of resistance, a call to arms against the plundering of our collective future. Our works are a testament to the power of art to illuminate, to provoke, and to heal.

About the Artists:

BLOOM: Works by Women is a long-running annual group exhibition in the Philippines that celebrates Women’s month, often featuring dozens of Filipina artists. BLOOM focuses on women’s empowerment, social justice and nation-building through the transformative power of art.

This March, we celebrate National Women’s Month by honoring the strength, leadership, and resilience of every woman in nation-building. As we continue with the 2023–2028 theme, "𝙒𝙀 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙮," and the sub-theme “𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙮𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙨, 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨!”, it’s important to know the laws that protect and empower women and the key pillars supporting women in professional spaces.

The annual celebration designated by the United Nations recognizes the contributions of women and girls in the STEM disciplines worldwide. This year's theme, "Synergizing AI, Social Science, STEM and Finance: Building Inclusive Futures for Women and Girls," highlights its integration to the society as a four-pillar approach to accelerate inclusive and sustainable development.

DOST-PCAARRD has continually and fully supported the technologies and innovations driven by women and girls under the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector.

Together, let us continue to bridge gaps, break barriers, and celebrate the passion, resilience, and excellence of women and girls shaping the future of science.

The UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS) is inviting you to “𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜: 𝘼 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥 𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨” happening on 9 December 2025 (Tuesday), 1:00–4:00 PM at the UPCWGS Conference Room! 💛✨

This workshop is part of the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW, and is officially endorsed by UP Diliman Office of Student Projects and Activities. If you’re part of a student org and want to help make your spaces more supportive, inclusive, and safe for everyone—this session is definitely for you. 🫶

We’ll be talking about:
✨ What gender-based violence (GBV) looks like in student orgs and classrooms
✨ How to recognize and respond to GBV
✨ Practical ways to improve your org’s policies and create a more caring community

👥 Each org may send 1–2 representatives.
