The Filipino worker is the backbone of the economy, yet they are trapped in a cycle of "governance by precarity." The RA 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women affirms that women’s rights are human rights. It guarantees Filipino women equal opportunities, protection from discrimination, and full participation in all areas of society, especially those belonging to marginalized sectors. By ensuring these rights are recognized, respected, protected, fulfilled, and promoted, the law empowers women to fully contribute to nation-building and social development.

As we observe World Day of Social Justice 2026, themed “Renewed Commitment to Social Development and Social Justice,” we are reminded that true social justice is only possible when women are included, valued, and given equal opportunity to thrive.

The PCW continually calls on all sectors to address inequalities and gender disparities that limit women’s participation. Let us stand for equality, challenge injustices, and build a society where women and children can fully exercise their rights and reach their potential.

A just society is one where equality is real for all women and children. đź’ś
