--ORG FEATURE: ATENEO SENIOR SCOUTING UNIT HOLD ITS FIRST ORIENTATION FOR PARENTS OF SCOUTS--
The Ateneo de Manila Junior High School Senior Scouting Unit had just conducted the Orientation for Parents of Senior Scouts last November 5, 2022. The purpose of this activity is to familiarize the parents of our Senior Scouts with the Principles, Ideals and Fundamentals of Scouting and significant roles of the parents in their son’s holistic development through the Scout Method.
Prior to the orientation proper, a Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Ruben Reyes, S.J. at the St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel, to seek blessing and guidance for all the parents of Scouts and their respective Scout leaders in the conduct of Scouting activities for Scouting Year 2022-2023. The orientation immediately followed at the ITC Lecture Room of the AJHS and was attended by no less
than twenty-two (22) parents and guardians of our Senior Scouts, together with them were our Scout Leaders Mr. Rey F. Montano, LT (Outfit Advisor and Scouting Coordinator), and Volunteer Scouters Ms. Maria Jonalyn D. Cudia, ALT and Mr. Albert John B. Anorico, WBH, who facilitated the whole activity under the guidance of Mr. Jose Antonio P. Salvador, our Principal and Ms. Ma. Agnes B. Surop, our Student Activities Coordinator. The orientation was graced by Mr. Reynaldo R. Nolasco, Jr., LT, the Regional Commissioner for Senior Scouting of the National Capital Region - Boy Scouts of the Philippines, as he congratulated all the parents and Scout leaders of the AJHS Outfit No. 26 for taking their time to participate in the activity, as expression of their true support for the young Senior Scouts. He further reminded each and everyone the importance of adults in Scouting by providing guidance and advise to the Scouts. In attendance as well, were two (2) members of the Institutional
Scouting Committee, Dr. Reynerio Vencio and Mrs. Ma. Theresa Cecilia Merino (parent-representatives to the ISC). Looking forward to the next activity of the Ateneo Scouting Movement will be the conduct of the Investiture Ceremony for the thirty (30) new Senior Scouts, to formally welcome them as members of the world’s largest youth movement, hopefully, before the end of November 2022.
