Meet ๐Œ๐ฌ. ๐๐ž๐š ๐•๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ฎ๐ž๐ฏ๐š, a 3rd-year Legal Management student, as she takes viewers through a quiet yet familiar story of a studentโ€™s everyday journey. This is her entry for MLQUโ€™s three-day mobile filmmaking workshop, โ€œ๐——๐—ถ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฃ๐—ผ ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ ๐— ๐—Ÿ๐—ค๐—จ: ๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ผ ๐—š๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ฎ ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฆ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ผ ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—”๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น๐—ฝ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ?โ€

Her short film captures the realities of student lifeโ€”from traveling to school by train and jeepney to crossing footbridges and dealing with the usual tiredness and struggles that come with an ordinary day. Through quiet shots, camera movements, and familiar surroundings, Bea tells her story, often without showing her face, allowing the surroundings and subtle camera movements to speak for themselves and create a calm, continuous reflection of her daily routine.

The film begins with a simple question about how small things can create a bigger impact. As the story unfolds, these seemingly ordinary moments come together through the Filipino saying, โ€œAng sakit ng kalingkingan, dama ng buong katawan,โ€ reminding viewers that even the smallest struggles can be felt throughout the entire day.
Through this film, Bea transforms an ordinary student routine into a meaningful reflection on how the little things we experience can leave a lasting impactโ€”a simple journey told through quiet moments, familiar places, and the perspective of a student simply making her way through the day.

On September 23, 2026, MLQUโ€™s three-day mobile filmmaking workshop, โ€œ๐ƒ๐ข๐ญ๐จ ๐๐จ ๐’๐š ๐Œ๐‹๐๐”: ๐๐š๐š๐ง๐จ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐š๐ฐ๐š ๐ง๐  ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ž๐จ ๐ ๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ ๐š๐ง๐  ๐š๐ค๐ข๐ง๐  ๐œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฉ๐ก๐จ๐ง๐ž?โ€, came to a close with a showcase and critique of the participantsโ€™ original short films. Out of more than 80 submissions, 30 works were shortlisted for live review. Among them was the film of ๐ƒ๐š๐ง๐ž๐ข๐ฅ ๐Ž๐›๐ซ๐ž๐ช๐ฎ๐ž, our very own 3rd-year BSLM student. Her film became one out of 6 entries to receive a ๐’๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐‚๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ โ€œ๐„๐ฑ๐œ๐ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐š๐ง๐ ๐“๐ž๐œ๐ก๐ง๐ข๐ช๐ฎ๐ž.โ€

Her two-minute short film was inspired by the proverb โ€œ๐“๐จ ๐›๐ž ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐, ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐š๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ.โ€ For Obreque, the inspiration began with a lost file, which she turned into a metaphor for her 2025, a year of feeling lost and uncertain, but ultimately finding her way back.

The recognition felt surreal, but Obreque took home something beyond a grade or a prize, a lifelong assignment to ๐ค๐ž๐ž๐ฉ ๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  and ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐›๐ž๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ.
