Eight years in the making, the film follows Philippine dance master and choreographer Sydney Loyola — an influential force in the Bay Area dance community — whose enduring impact and artistry continue to inspire. From the Bay to her roots in Palawan, her journey of gender affirmation unfolds through the vibrant language of Philippine dance, exploring identity, culture, and belonging. Now, it all comes full circle with the Bay Area premiere of The Road to Sydney at the festival.
