Centennial Public installation ceremony of officers for 2026-2027.
Sharing my message as GOHAS during the installation of elected and appointed officers.
"Brethren of Palawan Masonic Lodge No. 99, tonight, we mark a significant milestone in our Lodge โ the installation of leaders for this year. As your DDGM and a fellow brother of this lodge, I'm honored to join you in celebrating this momentous occasion, especially as we commemorate our Centennial this year.
As a Master Mason, I've experienced a profound transformation. When I first knocked on the door of our lodge in 2010, I was filled with questions and aspirations. I was initiated in September 2011, passed as a Fellowcraft in November, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on January 28, 2012 โ 14 years ago. I served as WM in 2018, appointed DGL in 2019 & 2020 under MW Agapito Suan, Jr.
Since then, I've gained knowledge, shouldered responsibilities, and discovered the true purpose of Freemasonry: making good men better through moral teachings, self-improvement, and community service.
By our core principles which are brotherly love, relief, and truth.
Serve with integrity, humility, and wisdom. Lead with modesty, guide with understanding, and uphold Masonic principles. You've been chosen for your dedication, skills, and passion for Masonry. Be the light in our lodge and community.
In Freemasonry, leadership isnโt about the title you wear โ itโs about the lives you touch. A real leader builds men, not egos. How do we do that?
- Mentorship & Coaching
You donโt hoard knowledge โ you pass it on. You guide others so they can someday guide others.
- Skill & Character Building
Teach the work, the ritual, the values, and the discipline โ so men grow in both ability and integrity.
- Brotherhood That Includes
Every voice matters. Every man belongs. Barriers fall when respect stands tall.
- Empowerment
You donโt control โ you trust. You give brothers room to lead, fail, learn, and rise.
- Genuine Care
You listen. You encourage. You correct with respect. You lead with heart, not fear.
Why does this matter? Because leadership is measured by who stands after you, not what you leave behind.
- You build a legacy by building men.
- Strong brothers make strong lodges.
- Strong lodges make strong communities.
- And loyalty grows where men feel valued.
Thatโs Masonic leadership.
As we look to the future, let's remember that our strength lies in unity, our purpose in service, and our greatness in brotherhood. Let's continue to build a better lodge, a better community, and a better world, one brother at a time.
Always Remember, Masonry's true value lies not in titles, but in humility and dedication to the craft. Our positions are temporary opportunities to serve, not trophies to display. Our Apron symbolizes our commitment: "Not worn for pride, but for work... It symbolizes work. The Apron teaches that Masonry is not about titles, but labor, the labor of improving oneself, serving others, and building a better world... A Mason wears an Apron, for he is called not to conquer men, but to build himself."
Brethren, let's honor our obligations. Be exemplars of a true Mason: principled, compassionate, and confident. True greatness lies in serving others.
Let's embody the 7 Habits of a True Mason:
- _Don't show off โ let your work speak_: Focus on actions, not words.
- _Talk less โ listen more_: Practice active listening and empathy.
- _Learn daily โ a Mason is always a student_: Pursue knowledge and self-improvement.
- _Help the less fortunate โ that's real charity_: Extend a helping hand.
- _Laugh more โ joy keeps you human_: Find joy in brotherhood and life.
- _Ignore nonsense โ guard your peace_: Maintain calm and composure.
- _No entitlement โ everything is earned_: Recognize achievements are earned, not given.
As we close, I want to leave you with a quote from Confucius & Nelson Mandela: "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Let us rise together, brethren, and continue to build a brighter future for ourselves, our lodge, and our community.
Special thanks to my beloved wife Pamela and my family for their love, understanding, and support.
