The Palawan Taxonomic Guild (PTG) mourns the passing of our dearest advocate, a true conservationist and educator who dedicated her life to the protection of Palawan’s wildlife.

Dr. Sabine will always be very close to our hearts. We were fortunate to work closely with her every World Pangolin Day Celebration. Her experiences, dedication, and passion for conservation shaped us and inspired us to continue pursuing and working in this field.

Her continuous sharing of knowledge and experiences gave every student not only valuable lessons but also someone to look up to and be inspired by. She served as a guiding hand in spreading and instilling the vision and mission of our organization, leaving a lasting impact on the students, advocates, and conservationists she encountered.

May her legacy, teachings, and passion for Palawan’s wildlife continue to inspire and guide us as we carry forward the work she so deeply believed in.

On behalf of the Palawan Taxonomic Guild, we extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Sabine’s family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones. May you find comfort in knowing that her life and work touched many lives and will continue to live on through the people she inspired.

Rest in peace, Dr. Sabine. Your legacy will continue to live on in the conservation community you helped inspire.

𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐀 𝐖𝐑𝐀𝐏!!!

The Palawan Taxonomic Guild (PTG) successfully concluded the event— recruitment day 2026.

Last March 2, 2026 was a day of preaching conservation and sharing our passion for the incredible flora and fauna of the Philippines, especially here in Palawan. 🐾🌱

The Palawan Taxonomic Guild opened its doors, and young environmental enthusiasts answered the call. It was a day when we met different students with a common love for biodiversity, shared commitment to protect it, and were ready to turn their love for nature into impact.

Because here in PTG, passion becomes purpose. Knowledge becomes advocacy. And students become protectors of nature. 💚

Today, the 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 (𝐁𝐑) celebrates one of the most important events of the year—World Wildlife Day! The theme for 2026 is “𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬: 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬.”

Did you know? The PCSD is the main implementer of RA 9147 (Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act) in the Province of Palawan. That is why, today, the PCSDS is hosting an activity to raise awareness about the importance and traditional use of wild medicinal and aromatic plants.

During the activity, participants will also learn about sustainable agricultural practices and take more active roles in conservation initiatives that contribute to the ecological balance on which wildlife species rely to survive and thrive.
