The NCIP Advisory No. NA-2023-09-002 reminds the public that Indigenous Peoples' traditional attire, accessories, songs, dances, chants, and rituals are important cultural expressions that deserve respect and proper representation.

Before using IP cultural materials in performances, ensure that the necessary permission or consent has been obtained from the concerned Indigenous community. Cultural expressions should be presented with appreciation, honor, dignity, and respect, and must not cause misinterpretation of Indigenous traditions and beliefs.

Let us celebrate culture through authenticity, respect, and cultural sensitivity. ❤️

| PFDS PALAWAN CHAPTER JOINS NCCA’S SAYAW PINOY FOLK DANCE MASTERCLASS

The Philippine Folk Dance Society (PFDS) – Palawan Chapter participated online in the Sayaw Pinoy Folk Dance Masterclass, a project of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) – National Committee on Dance.

Held on August 27–28 and September 2, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the masterclass featured in-depth discussions on Philippine folk dance and the Sayaw Pinoy National Dance Competition, scheduled in Cebu City this November.

The activity provided an opportunity for PFDS Palawan Chapter to gain insights and further enhance its knowledge and appreciation of Philippine folk dance.

Noong privilege speech natin, pinili nating magsalita sa wikang Cuyonon bilang pagpupugay sa wika, kultura, at pagkakakilanlan ng ating mga kababayang Palaweño.

Kahapon, pormal nating inihain ang 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟯𝟲𝟱, 𝗻𝗮 𝗸𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗴𝗶 𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀.

Sa ilalim ng resolusyon, layunin nating suriin sa Kongreso ang mga kasalukuyang programa at polisiya para sa preservation at promotion ng Cuyonon, at tukuyin kung ano pa ang maaaring gawin upang patuloy itong magamit, mapag-aralan, at mapangalagaan.

Buhay at patuloy na ginagamit ang Cuyonon. Sa katunayan, ayon sa PSA, ito ang pangalawang pinakaginagamit na wika sa mga tahanan sa MIMAROPA, kasunod lamang ng Tagalog.
