The Foundation for the Development of Agusanons, Inc. (FDAI) proudly took part in the Asia-Pacific Youth-Led Summit on Ending Violence Against Children, held from April 14โ€“17, 2026 at Loreland Farm Resort in Antipolo City, Philippines.

The international summit, organized by the Global Youth-Led Movement on Ending Violence Against Children and founded by Bryanna Mariรฑas, gathered over 200 young leaders, advocates, and stakeholders from 23 countries across the Asia-Pacific region. The event served as a dynamic platform to strengthen youth leadership, co-create innovative solutions to prevent violence against children, and develop a unified regional agenda in preparation for the 2nd Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children.

Kindernothilfe (KNH) played a key leadership role as part of the Summitโ€™s Support Team, providing technical guidance, coordination, and essential resources to ensure that the event achieved its objectives while upholding a strong youth-centered approach.

As a part of the established Support Team under KNH, FDAI actively contributed to the overall planning, coordination, and implementation of the summit. The organization helped oversee key aspects of the event, ensuring smooth operations and meaningful engagement among participants.

FDAI expresses its sincere gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such a significant international gathering. The experience not only strengthened the organizationโ€™s commitment to child protection and youth empowerment but also reinforced the importance of collaborative action in addressing violence against children.

Moving forward, FDAI remains dedicated to advancing the rights and well-being of children and young people, and to supporting initiatives that amplify youth voices in shaping safer and more inclusive communities.

In line with the celebration of Womenโ€™s Month, the Foundation for the Development of Agusanons, Inc. (FDAI) under the Self-Help Approach Children-Focused Community Development (SHA-CFCD), conducted an informative and meaningful discussion highlighting the importance of recognizing womenโ€™s rights, history, and current realities.

The activity included a discussion on the history of Womenโ€™s Month, focusing on how the movement for womenโ€™s rights began and why it continues to be commemorated today. Historical milestones such as the Seneca Falls Convention were presented as part of the early advocacy for womenโ€™s equality. Global initiatives were also highlighted through the efforts of the United Nations, particularly the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, which promotes the protection of womenโ€™s rights worldwide.

At the national level, the discussion included key laws in the Philippines that safeguard womenโ€™s welfare and promote gender equality, such as the Magna Carta of Women and the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act. These policies play an important role in strengthening protection and opportunities for women and children in communities.

The activity also briefly explored the current situation of women, particularly how global crises continue to affect their access to resources, safety, livelihood, and opportunities. These discussions emphasized the importance of community awareness and collective responsibility in addressing the challenges that women still face today.

To conclude the session, participants discussed possible ways forward that can help support women and girls, including strengthening advocacy efforts, promoting education and awareness, and encouraging community involvement in protecting and empowering women.

The celebration of Womenโ€™s Month serves as a reminder of the progress achieved in advancing womenโ€™s rights, while also recognizing the continuous efforts needed to build a more inclusive, safe, and equitable society for all.

In line with the celebration of National Womenโ€™s Month, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Agusan del Sur (PSA-ADS) invited the Foundation for the Development of Agusanons, Inc. (FDAI) to facilitate a learning discussion on Republic Act No. 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women, a landmark legislation that affirms the rights of women and mandates the State to promote gender equality and womenโ€™s empowerment across all sectors. The organization was duly represented by its Social Worker, Clarice Osico, who led the session.

The learning engagement aimed to strengthen institutional awareness and deepen the understanding of PSA-ADS personnel regarding the legal and policy framework underpinning gender equality in the Philippines. The discussion highlighted the core principles, provisions, and implementing mechanisms of the Magna Carta of Women, particularly the responsibilities of government agencies in mainstreaming gender perspectives in policies, programs, and services. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of gender-responsive governance and the role of public institutions in ensuring that womenโ€™s rights are upheld and protected in both policy and practice.

Furthermore, the session provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the relevance of the law within their respective mandates and operational contexts. It encouraged constructive dialogue on how government agencies can further integrate gender and development (GAD) principles into their organizational systems, workplace culture, and service delivery mechanisms.

Through this engagement, FDAI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that advance womenโ€™s rights, promote gender-responsive development, and strengthen partnerships with government institutions and community stakeholders. The collaboration between FDAI and PSAโ€“Agusan del Sur underscores a shared dedication to fostering informed, inclusive, and equitable institutions in pursuit of sustainable community development.

The Social Work Interns of Foundation for the Development of Agusanons, Inc. (FDAI), in partnership with Azpetia National High School and its Azpetia SSLG, BKD, and YES-O Fam, have successfully initiated the establishment of a Mental Health Support Group and Peer Educator Group for the learners of the school.

This initiative aims to create a safe and supportive environment where students can openly share their experiences, express their emotions, and support one another in navigating the challenges that come with adolescence, academic pressures, and personal struggles. Through the formation of a peer-led support system, selected student leaders were empowered and equipped to serve as peer educators and advocates for mental health awareness, promoting empathy, understanding, and positive coping mechanisms among their fellow learners.

Recognizing that young people often feel more comfortable speaking with peers, the program strengthens peer-to-peer support, ensuring that students have accessible spaces where they feel heard, valued, and supported.

This initiative is strongly aligned with the mission of FDAI to protect and promote the rights and well-being of children and young people in communities. By building the capacity of learners to look after one anotherโ€™s mental and emotional well-being, the program contributes to the creation of child-friendly and protective school environments where issues affecting children can be addressed early and safely.

Through this partnership, FDAI continues to advance its commitment to community-based child protection, empowering young people not only as beneficiaries but also as active partners and leaders in promoting safer, healthier, and more supportive communities.

FDAI believes that when young people are empowered with knowledge, compassion, and leadership, they become powerful advocates for mental health, child protection, and positive change within their schools and communities.

Together, we continue to nurture a generation that is aware, resilient, and ready to stand for the well-being of every child.

The Foundation for the Development of Agusanons, Inc. (FDAI), in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) โ€“ Prosperidad, and other Government agencies, successfully conducted a series of Mental Health and Online Safety discussions for learners and parents across different schools in Prosperidad.

This initiative aims to raise awareness on the importance of mental health, promote emotional well-being among young people, and strengthen familiesโ€™ understanding of responsible and safe online behavior. In todayโ€™s digital age, equipping both learners and parents with knowledge about online risks, cyber safety, and healthy digital practices is essential to creating a safe, supportive, and protective environment for children.

Through these sessions, participants were guided on recognizing mental health concerns, building healthy coping mechanisms, and understanding the importance of open communication between parents, teachers, and children. The discussions also highlighted practical strategies to prevent online exploitation, cyberbullying, and other digital threats that may affect the well-being of children and adolescents.

FDAI remains committed to empowering communities, strengthening child protection efforts, and promoting holistic development among children and families through collaborative initiatives with local government units, schools, and partner stakeholders.

Together, we continue to build safer spaces both offline and online, for every child.

Foundation for the Development of Agusanons, Inc. proudly joins the National Womenโ€™s Month Celebration 2026. This observance reminds us of womenโ€™s struggles, the gains achieved through collective action, and the ongoing work needed to achieve genuine gender equality.

We honor the courage, strength, and leadership of women who shape families, transform communities, and lead meaningful change despite persistent inequalities. Women are not merely participants in development. They are drivers of progress, defenders of rights, and builders of a just and inclusive society.

As an organization rooted in community service, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing womenโ€™s rights through our work with Self-Help Groups, Cluster Level Associations, and KASKO Federation. These women-led structures provide spaces for women to organize, strengthen leadership, and collectively address issues affecting their lives and communities. Through organizing, capacity building, and community engagement, we challenge harmful norms, prevent all forms of violence, and promote womenโ€™s meaningful participation in decision-making at the community and local governance levels.

Empowering women through collective action is not only a matter of justice and equality. It is essential to sustainable and inclusive development. When women are informed, confident, and organized, they become powerful agents of change who uplift families, influence policies, and contribute to resilient communities.

This Womenโ€™s Month, we stand with women and girls everywhere in building a future where equality is lived, dignity is upheld, and every womanโ€™s voice matters.

Her Voice. Her Power. Our Future.
