In support of the Department of Education's Aral Program, the 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆 𝑬𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝑮𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 (𝑺𝑬𝑳𝑮) 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒈𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒐 𝑭𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐 𝑬𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓-𝒍𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 for pupils. This initiative aims to reinforce reading skills among learners while simultaneously fostering leadership qualities and confidence among the SELG officers.

The SELG officers lead engaging activities such as reading sessions and spelling exercises, creating a supportive learning environment. This peer-to-peer interaction not only aids the pupils in improving their literacy but also provides the SELG officers with practical experience in leadership and instruction. The program has been well-received, with noticeable improvements in both the reading abilities of the pupils and the leadership skills of the SELG officers.

Egmedio Fernando ES SELG Leads Canal-Clearing Initiative

Egmedio Fernando ES (EFES) pupils showed their commitment to environmental cleanliness through a recent canal-clearing activity. Spearheaded by the EFES-SELG officers, the initiative saw dozens of enthusiastic pupils actively removing trash, weeds and dried leaves from the school's drainage canal.

The canal, vital for proper water flow, was clogged with plastic waste, leaves, and other refuse, posing a potential flooding risk during the rainy season. Stagnant water in the plaza resulted from this blockage. Recognizing the importance of maintaining a clean and safe school environment, the SELG officers organized the cleanup drive, mobilizing their fellow learners to participate.

The activity wasn't just about cleaning; it served as a valuable lesson in environmental responsibility. The SELG officers emphasized the importance of proper waste disposal and the impact of pollution on the environment. They encouraged their peers to adopt sustainable practices, not only within the school but also in their homes and communities.

The successful canal-clearing initiative reflects the dedication and proactive approach of EFES learners and their SELG officers in promoting environmental stewardship. The school administration expressed its pride in the learners' initiative and commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy learning environment.

OCTOBER 15 2024 Tuesday

The Supreme Elementary Learners Government (SELG) of Egmedio Fernando ES played a vital role in promoting handwashing hygiene within our school community. Recognizing the importance of this simple yet crucial practice, SELG spearheaded a comprehensive campaign that went beyond mere demonstrations, SELG members took the lead in demonstrating proper handwashing techniques to the learners. This hands-on demonstration served as a visual and practical guide for them.
Another activity was a handprint commitment wall in which the SELG explained the learners about the importance of it. SELG also recognized the power of catchy slogans in spreading awareness and promoting positive behavior. These slogans not only reinforced the message but also fostered a sense of ownership and pride among learners, encouraging them to actively participate in the campaign.
