For clarity to our pastors, churches, youth leaders, district leaders, and members:
NXA has been used in previous seasons and may still be familiar to some churches and leaders. We recognize that history. However, historical use of a name does not automatically mean current official recognition.
This statement does not prevent any local church from using its own youth ministry name or branding under the covering and direction of its pastor. Local churches remain free to organize, name, and contextualize their youth ministry according to their local church setting.
This statement also does not cancel or prohibit district or local events within their proper jurisdiction. Districts and sections have their proper role in coordinating ministry within PGCAG.
The purpose of this clarification is recognition and endorsement. NXA is not currently an official NYD program, district youth identity, or PGCAG-wide endorsement label. A DYD, section, district-led event, or public promotion should not present NXA as endorsed, authorized, or coordinated by NYD or PGCAG unless proper written authorization has been issued by the appropriate PGCAG authority.
PGCAG youth work is carried through the Youth Department and its recognized program, Christ’s Ambassadors. In line with the Centrality of the Local Church, NYD exists to equip and strengthen local churches, not to control local church identity.
This clarity of order also extends to how we view the home. A core goal of our youth ministry is the strengthening of family unity. We recognize the family first in its proper household sense: parents, guardians, and the biological or legal home where young people are formed and cared for. Ministry networks should support the home and the local church, not assume family roles or identities that are not theirs to claim.
We believe this season is the right time to introduce these healthy alignments. While we celebrate the autonomy of the local church, appointed denominational, district, and sectional youth leaders carry a distinct responsibility, within their proper jurisdictions, to reflect the recognized standards of PGCAG youth ministry.
Local churches lead. Districts coordinate. NYD equips and resources. Pastors shepherd.
We issue this in the spirit of clarity, order, and unity as we continue strengthening youth ministry through the local church.
