SK Barangay Rubber and Save the Children Philippines Conduct Session 4 of the PaMiLyah! Program

BARANGAY RUBBER, POLOMOLOK, SOUTH COTABATO — The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Rubber, in partnership with Save the Children Philippines, successfully conducted Session 4 of the PaMiLyah! Program on Saturday, July 11, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to promote adolescent health and well-being.

The learning session was spearheaded by Hon. Kristian Noel Solas, SK Chairperson of Barangay Rubber, alongside youth volunteer Ms. Elyn Hassan. Together, they facilitated interactive discussions designed to provide adolescents with accurate and age-appropriate information on preventing teenage pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), understanding healthy relationships, and making informed and responsible decisions. Throughout the session, participants engaged in interactive activities that encouraged open communication, critical thinking, and informed decision-making. The discussions also highlighted the importance of accessing reliable Sexual and Reproductive Health information and services while emphasizing respect, personal responsibility, and safeguarding the well-being of young people.

The activity was initiated by Save the Children Philippines in collaboration with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Rubber and was actively supported by the KASAMA Ka Child-Led Group Members, whose assistance contributed to the successful implementation of the program.

The PaMiLyah! Program continues to strengthen the capacity of adolescents, parents, and communities by promoting positive family communication and equipping young people with the knowledge and life skills necessary to make healthy and informed choices.

SK Barangay Rubber Celebrates the Graduation of Three SK Officials

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Rubber proudly celebrates the academic achievements of three of its officials who successfully earned their respective college degrees this year, demonstrating that dedication to public service can go hand in hand with academic excellence.

Hon. Miguela "Mimi" Silva, SK Kagawad, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from General Santos Academy, Inc., earning the distinction of Cum Laude. Also graduating from General Santos Academy, Inc. is Hon. Ahmad Kamal Canapia, SK Kagawad, who completed his Bachelor of Science in Criminology. Meanwhile, Ms. Kristine Mae Pantan, SK Treasurer, earned her Bachelor of Elementary Education from Mindanao State University–General Santos City. In recognition of her exemplary dedication throughout her collegiate years, she was also honored with a Service Award.

These remarkable accomplishments reflect the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Rubber's commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, where public service and education complement one another. As elected and appointed youth officials, they continue to exemplify the values of responsibility, perseverance, and servant leadership while pursuing their personal and professional aspirations.

The entire Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Rubber extends its heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Miguela Silva, Hon. Ahmad Kamal Canapia, and Ms. Kristine Mae Pantan for reaching this significant milestone. SK Barangay Rubber Earns Second Victory in Under-25 Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Rubber secured its second victory in the Under-25 Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation as part of the celebration of the Municipal Linggo ng Kabataan.
In their third game of the tournament, Team Rubber delivered another strong performance, defeating the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Klinan 6 to advance their record to two wins and one loss in the elimination round.

Leading the team once again was Mr. Jay Abella, who showcased an outstanding all-around performance on the court. For the second time in the tournament, he was recognized as the Best Player of the Game, highlighting his consistency and significant contribution to the team's success.

With two elimination games still remaining, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Rubber remains determined to continue its winning momentum and secure a place in the next stage of the competition.

This year, RIYL is open not only to the youth of Barangay Rubber but also to qualified applicants from other barangays within the Municipality of Polomolok.

If you have a heart for public service and want to make a difference in your community, we encourage you to apply.

🟢 Barangay Rubber Youth Applicants
✔️ 17–23 years old
✔️ Resident of Barangay Rubber
✔️ Aspires to become a future leader and intends to run for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)

🔵 Applicants from Other Barangays
✔️ 17–23 years old
✔️ Bona fide resident of the Municipality of Polomolok
✔️ Has demonstrated leadership in the community, school, or other organizations and intends to run for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)
✔️ Former and current child representatives, former members of child-led groups, and members of Indigenous communities who aspire to serve in the SK are highly encouraged to apply.
