Strengthening Respect, Choices, and Consent Among Adolescents in Barangay Rubber
Last May 9, 2026, the Save the Children Philippines, in collaboration with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Rubber, successfully conducted an educational session focused on strengthening respect, informed choices, and consent among adolescents in Purok Lote, Barangay Rubber.
The activity aimed to empower young people by equipping them with knowledge and awareness that can guide them in making responsible and informed decisions for their future. Through meaningful discussions and interactive learning sessions, participants were encouraged to understand the importance of mutual respect, personal boundaries, and the value of making sound life choices.
One of the key objectives of the initiative is to help eliminate cases related to Child, Early, and Forced Marriage and Unions (CEFMU) and reduce teenage pregnancy through education and informed decision-making. The session emphasized that adolescents who are properly guided and informed are more capable of protecting their rights, prioritizing their education, and building a better future for themselves and their communities.
The session was attended by adolescents from Purok Lote, Barangay Rubber, who actively participated in the discussions and shared their insights throughout the activity. Their active participation highlighted the importance of creating safe spaces where young people can openly discuss issues affecting their well-being, development, and future aspirations.
