𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱, 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗥𝗔𝗔 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁

POLOMOLOK, SOUTH COTABATO — Two young student-athletes from Barangay Rubber delivered golden performances at the 2026 South Cotabato Provincial Athletic Association (SCPAA) Meet, securing gold medals in their respective events and earning qualification for the Soccsksargen Regional Athletic Association (SRAA) Meet.

Kathlea Dio Samloc, a student of Poblacion Polomolok National High School, captured the gold medal in the Women’s Wrestling category, showcasing her strength and determination against athletes from across the province. Meanwhile, Raymond Miranda Jr. of Jose Natividad Jr. Integrated School topped the Athletics High Jump event, earning his own gold medal and a ticket to the upcoming regional competition.

Their victories formed part of a strong showing by the Municipality of Polomolok, which emerged as the overall champion of the 2026 SCPAA Meet.

For Barangay Rubber, the achievements of Samloc and Miranda highlight the growing potential of its young student-athletes and the determination of Batang Rubber to compete at higher levels.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Rubber congratulates the two athletes on their outstanding achievements, expressing pride in their accomplishments and recognizing their victories as an inspiration to fellow young people in the community.

With their gold medals secured, Samloc and Miranda Jr. will now carry the name of their schools, Polomolok, and Barangay Rubber to the SRAA Meet, where they will compete against top student-athletes from across the region.

PaMILYah Sessions Culminate Under Save the Children Philippines’ Power Up Girls Program

After months of implementation, the PaMILYah sessions under Save the Children Philippines’ Power Up Girls Program culminated on September 12. Members of the Kasama Ka Peer Educators Group, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Health Facilitators, program partners, and staff from Save the Children Philippines and Mahintana Foundation attended the culmination.

The event featured HEEADSSS assessment, YAKAP registration, health consultations, testimony sharing, poster-making, and Fam-Talk sessions. The activity concluded with a salo-salo, celebrating the participants’ journey and the program’s efforts to promote adolescent health, well-being, and empowerment.

The Adolescent-Friendly Health Facility (AFHF) of Barangay Rubber received health and advocacy supplies from Save the Children Philippines to strengthen access to youth-friendly health services and support adolescent health advocacy in the community.

The assistance will help enhance the facility’s capacity to provide accessible and responsive services for adolescents in Barangay Rubber.

SK Rubber, Muling Pinarangalan bilang Highly Performing Sangguniang Kabataan sa South Cotabato

Muling kinilala ang Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Rubber bilang isa sa mga Highly Performing Sangguniang Kabataan sa buong Probinsiya ng South Cotabato sa ilalim ng SK Governance Exemplars for Meaningful Service.

Nakamit ng SK Rubber ang pagkilala matapos makapasa sa mataas na pamantayan at mga area indicators ng programa, na sumasalamin sa mahusay na pamamahala at makabuluhang paglilingkod sa kabataan at komunidad.

Ipinahayag ng 7th Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Rubber ang taos-pusong pasasalamat sa lahat ng katuwang na ahensya, stakeholder, at mga volunteer na naging bahagi ng tagumpay na ito. Ayon sa kanila, ang parangal ay hindi lamang tagumpay ng SK kundi bunga ng sama-samang pagsisikap ng buong komunidad.

Ikalawang taon na itong natanggap ng SK Rubber ang naturang pagkilala mula sa Probinsiya ng South Cotabato, bilang patunay ng patuloy nitong pangako sa mahusay at makabuluhang paglilingkod para sa kabataan at komunidad.

Walong Purok, Nakatanggap na ng Tulong-Pinansyal mula sa SK Rubber para sa Purok Anniversary; Purok 3 ang Pinakabagong Nakatanggap ng Suporta

Nakibahagi ang Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Rubber sa pagdiriwang ng Anibersaryo ng Purok 3 sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng tulong-pinansyal bilang suporta sa kanilang selebrasyon at mga gawaing nagpapalakas ng pagkakaisa ng komunidad.

Sa ngayon, walo (8) nang purok sa Barangay Rubber ang napagkalooban ng parehong suporta mula sa SK Rubber bilang bahagi ng patuloy nitong pagtulong sa mga inisyatibang nagtataguyod ng aktibong pakikilahok ng mamamayan sa antas ng purok.

Patuloy na isusulong ng SK Rubber ang mga programang nagpapatibay sa bayanihan, partisipasyon, at sama-samang pag-unlad ng bawat purok.

Barangay Rubber SK Chairperson Kristian Noel Solas has been selected as one of the Filipino youth leaders to become a scholar under the Bagani: Rising Leaders Development Program – AGOS Cohort of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).

The month-long in-house scholarship program, which begins in the first week of October, is designed to develop emerging leaders in government through immersive leadership training and a deeper understanding of the Philippines' development landscape. As part of the AGOS Cohort, participants will strengthen their leadership competencies and gain the knowledge and perspective needed to become the next generation of public servants.

Solas' selection marks another proud milestone for Barangay Rubber and the Municipality of Polomolok, highlighting the growing impact of youth leadership in building responsive and transformative governance for the future.

RIYL Brings Local, National, and International Partners Together to Co-Create Leadership Program for Kabataang Polomolok

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — August 31, 2026 — The Rubber Institute of Young Leaders (RIYL) brought together young leaders and partners from the local, national, and international development sectors for a three-day leadership program aimed at equipping Kabataang Polomolok with the knowledge, skills, and networks to create meaningful community action.

Held from August 29–31, 2026, at Venue 88 Hotel and Events Place in General Santos City, the initiative, formally titled Project Tanglaw: Municipal Youth Leadership Fellowship on Governance, Health Advocacies, and Civic Engagement, was initiated by RIYL to strengthen young people’s understanding of governance, civic participation, leadership, health advocacy, and community development.

Project Tanglaw was built through a co-creation model, bringing together the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), Mahintana Foundation, Inc., Save the Children Philippines, and the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangays Maligo and Landan to contribute perspectives, expertise, and support toward a shared youth leadership agenda for Polomolok.

From governance to community action

The three-day fellowship followed a progressive learning journey—from experiencing governance and understanding leadership to building skills and taking action.

Participants began with a learning visit to the Municipal Government of Polomolok and a dialogue with Municipal Vice Mayor Florence Bansuelo, providing firsthand exposure to local governance, legislative processes, and public service.

The program also covered political literacy and civic engagement, transformational and servant leadership, parliamentary procedures and minutes writing, adolescent health programming, strategic partnerships, and responsible use of artificial intelligence in youth governance.

Through workshops and practical activities, participants were encouraged to transform community concerns into concrete proposals and action plans, particularly in the areas of youth development and adolescent health.

The fellowship also included a specialized component for Child-Led Groups and child representatives, focusing on organizational strengthening, technical writing, community-based leadership, advocacy, and action planning. Participants worked on their organizational documents and presented their outputs for feedback and refinement.

Co-creating the future of youth leadership

Project Tanglaw underscores RIYL’s belief that meaningful youth leadership development requires collaboration.

By bringing together local institutions, national agencies, civil society organizations, development partners, and young people themselves, the initiative created a shared space for learning and collaboration.

The fellowship connected governance, civic engagement, leadership, health advocacy, child participation, organizational development, and responsible technology use, giving young participants a broader understanding of leadership and their role in community development.

More importantly, Project Tanglaw positioned young people not simply as beneficiaries of a program, but as partners in shaping solutions for their communities.
