As temperatures rise, glaciers weaken and become more unstable, turning once-frozen landscapes into growing threats for the communities living below. What happened in Nepal is a heartbreaking reminder that climate change is not just changing the planet, it is putting lives, homes, and entire communities at greater risk. :(

Nepal’s deadly flash floods were not triggered by a 4.4-magnitude earthquake, as initially reported. The US Geological Survey says the seismic activity was instead caused by a glacial collapse and debris flow, which led to catastrophic impacts downstream.

Satellite analysis by Nepali and international scientists also points to an ice-rock avalanche as the trigger. Experts say the event highlights the growing risks posed by unstable glaciers in the Himalayas, though it is too early to determine the specific role of climate change in this disaster.

hindi naman natin kailangan ng complicated na solution. kailangan lang nating sundin yung simpleng bagay na matagal na nating alam.

The 𝐘𝐄𝐒-𝐎 𝐋𝐍𝐇𝐒 proudly launches 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐭𝐨 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝟐.𝟎, our annual environmental photo challenge promoting the use of reusable tumblers and reusable food containers as we continue supporting our school's 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧.
