𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪 | ALS Pioduran West and East Districts, in partnership with World Vision, conducts Municipal ALS Life Skills Forum 2025

The Municipal ALS Life Skills Forum 2025 has finally kicked off today, October 23, 2025 at the Municipal Function Hall, Pioduran, Albay. ALS students will be immersed with discussions and lectures by CVA Core Team members on child labor, online sexual exploitation of children, citizens voice and action, and spiritual nurture.

As a noble profession, their duty extends beyond imparting knowledge and nurturing wisdom to the students in the four corners of the classroom or in the halls of the school institution; they are also passion igniters, dream inspirers, change-makers, and future designers. 📚💡Their pivotal and transformative contributions in society and in the world as whole cannot be described and enumerated using words, as they are as countless as the stars that light up the night sky—and just like the stars, they shine through our lives by helping us realize our dreams and aspirations. 💫

They are loving second parents and passionate nurturers. Teaching is not just their profession—teaching is their vocation. Teaching is their life. 🫀🤗

They were once students but forever learners. And now they continue to inspire young minds and shape burning hearts. 💞

They are Teachers. They are Educators. And today we celebrate them for teaching us how to become a better person and build a better world for all. 📚🌍

Celebrated on the last Monday of August (August 25, 2025), we commemorate National Heroes Day to pay a solemn tribute to all selfless Filipinos whose sacrifices, efforts, and service make a tremendous impact on the Philippines. 🇵🇭🌟

From the brave Filipinos who fought for the country’s independence from several colonizers, every diligent OFW, tireless frontliners during the COVID-19 pandemic, responsible leaders, passionate teachers, laborious farmers and active volunteers to all charitable individuals whose collective efforts and contributions are transformative and whose altruism and patriotic hearts remain steadfast amidst the challenging circumstances—we celebrate you today. Today, August 21st, we commemorate the life and sacrifice of Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., a vocal critic of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s authoritarian rule, who tirelessly advocated for democratic reforms and human rights.

On this day in 1983, Ninoy Aquino Jr.’s life was tragically cut short by an assassination that sparked widespread outrage and mobilized the 1986 People Power Revolution, which ultimately led to the downfall of Marcos Sr.’s regime.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9256, signed into law by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on February 25, 2004, August 21 of every year is declared Ninoy Aquino Day—a special nonworking holiday—in recognition of his courageous stand against the Marcos regime and his ultimate sacrifice for the country.

As we pay tribute to Ninoy Aquino’s life and legacy, let us recommit ourselves to upholding the values of freedom, justice, and democracy that he fought for. May his sacrifice continue to inspire us to stand up for our rights and strive for a better future for all Filipinos. ✨

Area Program (AP) Albay Barangay Children’s Association (BCA) officers attended the two-day SparkTales: Telling The Future Leader's Story held at Coastal View Resort, Sto. Domingo, Albay, from July 26 to 27, 2025.

Together with the AP Sorsogon, BCA officers from Pio Duran engaged in meaningful discussions and interactive activities, empowering them to become change-makers and future leaders in their respective communities. 🌠

The Capacity Development Training and Team Building was conducted to ensure that the Barangay Children’s Association is equipped not only with knowledge but also with the necessary skills for an organization to function effectively and contribute to the community.

[𝗘𝗫𝗧.𝘇𝗶𝗽] ALPAS LAYAG receives formal recognition as a YORP-Registered Youth Organization in Pioduran

ALPAS LAYAG has officially received its certification from the National Youth Commission (NYC) through LYDO Pioduran, formally establishing its status as a registered youth organization under the Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP) at the community level.

Registration under NYC’s YORP initiative provides a range of opportunities and platforms for youth-led and youth-serving organizations to broaden the reach of their programs and build partnerships that promote advocacy and civic engagement. With this registration, ALPAS LAYAG is poised to take a seat in the Local Youth Development Council, strengthening youth inclusion and participation in formulating programs and projects that reflect the needs and interests of young people in Pioduran.

We reaffirm our steadfast commitment to working meaningfully with the LYDO and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation to further empower the youth and champion advocacy-driven, youth-led initiatives as pivotal tools for community development.

[𝗘𝗫𝗧.𝘇𝗶𝗽] ALPAS LAYAG meets with the Office of the Mayor, local youth institutions

The Executive Body of ALPAS LAYAG met with Mayor Vangie Arandia for a courtesy meeting on August 1, 2025, marking the formal introduction of the organization to the local government unit. Joining the dialogue were Mx. Adiel O. Biando and Mx. Mariane Arandia—the Local Youth Development Officer and Vice Chair of the SK Federation, respectively.

Alongside the presentation of the organization's vision and Core Centers of Involvement (CCIs) was a discussion of its proposed plan of activities for the operational year. Projects open for collaboration with the LGU and community stakeholders encompass vital areas such as children and youth representation, environmental conservation, disaster risk reduction, and youth empowerment.

On a positive note, Mayor Vangie, Mx. Adiel, and Mx. Mariane affirmed their commitment to supporting youth-led projects and programs, recognizing the fundamental role of youth in fostering holistic and inclusive community development. ALPAS LAYAG will also become part of the reactivated Local Youth Development Council, expanding its platform to advance progressive and meaningful programs for children and youth, with strong support from the local government.

We look forward to working hand in hand with the local government and the community to bolster our efforts in empowering young people and amplifying their voices at all levels of participation.
