World Food Safety Day is a global observance dedicated to drawing attention and inspiring action to help prevent, detect, and manage foodborne risks. Safe food is fundamental to human health, economic prosperity, and sustainable development, yet contaminated food remains a critical public health priority that causes over 200 different diseases worldwide. Ensuring that food stays safe from farm to fork requires a continuous, collaborative effort across the entire supply chain by combining scientific innovation, rigorous processing standards, and proper handling practices to protect individuals and communities everywhere.

This year's theme, "From burden to solutions – safe food everywhere," emphasizes the urgent need to transition from simply identifying the heavy tolls of foodborne illnesses to actively executing practical, evidence based solutions. Food safety is a shared responsibility among producers, industries, governments, and consumers alike. By turning scientific insights into daily, actionable routines like maintaining proper sanitation, enforcing strict quality controls, and ensuring supply chain transparency, we can eliminate preventable risks and guarantee that every meal serves as a source of nourishment rather than harm.

The 3rd Year Bachelor of Science in Food Technology students successfully conducted their Consumer Acceptability and Market Survey as part of their Food Product Development course. This activity provided an opportunity to evaluate consumer preferences, gather valuable feedback, and assess the market potential of the innovative food products developed by the students.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ma’am Julieta M. Casaul for her invaluable guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout this journey. Her expertise and dedication have greatly contributed to the success of this undertaking.

We would also like to thank all students, faculty members, staff, and consumers who participated in the survey and supported the products. Your insights, feedback, and encouragement are essential in helping future food technologists develop products that are both innovative and responsive to consumer needs.
