Abra Youth Organizations Society

Abra Youth Organizations Society AYO Society is not part of government nor do we have an allegiance to any political party. AYO was widely considered as the apathy breakers in the 1970s.

The AYO movement has re-emerged in response to the actual and attempted electoral fraud, cheating, manipulation, and sabotage in relation to the local elections. Youth of Abra assembled for a Walk for Good Governance in May 4, 2013 and 4 days later, 22 youth leaders gathered by a passionate aspiration and signed a manifesto calling for clean, honest, accurate, meaningful and peaceful elections in

Abra. In June 2013, the movement was officially called AYO Society. Vision:
AYO Society envisions to be the premier leadership development organization for young men and women, where they are challenged to grow in character, understand their purpose, serve their community, and develop practical leadership skills. Mission:
To enable the youth of Abra through convergence of resources and networking among youth groups and with other agencies and organizations. In October 13, 2016, AYO Society was registered to the Youth Organizations Registration Program of the National Youth Commission. In February 27, 2017, AYO Society was accepted as official member of United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network - Youth Initiative. In May 1, 2017, AYO Society decided to join the Sigaw ng Kabataan Coalition, a national apolitical coalition of youth leaders and organizations with more than 44,000 young people within the network, all working together to amplify Filipino youth voices. In May 18, 2017, AYO Society successfully registered as CSO to the TACSO CSO Database. The Technical Assistance for Civil Society Organisations (TACSO) is part of the Civil Society Facility (CSF) which is a European Union (EU) mechanism that provides support to civil society organisations (CSOs).

This National Women’s Month, we honor the women who came before us-- who spoke before they were heard, who led before they were recognized, and who believed in futures they could not yet see.

Because of them, we learned our voices matter. We learned that leadership has many forms: courage, compassion, resilience, and the quiet refusal to give up. And now, we rise not only for ourselves, but for every young woman still finding her strength.

Today, we carry their legacy forward. Not only by rising ourselves, but by reaching back and making sure more young women rise with us. We believe in a future where every girl knows her worth, where her ideas are heard, and where she is empowered to shape the world around her.

We rise because they did. And now, we rise for those who will come next.
