LEGAL AID CARAVAN BRINGS LEGAL SERVICES CLOSER TO BRGY. AGGUGADDAN RESIDENTS
A Legal Aid Caravan organized by the JD-3 Law Student Practitioners of the University of Cagayan Valley – College of Law under its Clinical Legal Education Program was successfully conducted today at Barangay Aggugaddan, bringing free legal information and services closer to the community.
During the program, Mr. William II Arago Furigay, KKDAT Municipal President delivered his message emphasizing the importance of legal awareness among the youth and community members. He highlighted that understanding one’s rights and responsibilities under the law plays a vital role in building a more informed and empowered community.
Also present during the activity was Hon. Marlon Buena, SK Chairperson of Barangay Aggugaddan, who joined the initiative supporting programs that educate and engage the youth in community development.
The activity formally opened with a welcome message from Hon. Cleofa Quizzagan, Barangay Captain while PCpt. Charles Lapada, Deputy Chief of Police also shared a message encouraging residents to remain cooperative and proactive in promoting peace, order, and respect for the law within the community.
The Legal Aid Caravan is part of the law students’ practical training, allowing them to extend legal assistance and share basic legal knowledge to communities, reflecting the program’s goal of bringing “Hustisiyang Abot-Kamay: Mula Silid-Aralan, Para sa Pamayanan.”
