Official Statement from the LKP 2026 Committee:
This statement addresses inquiries regarding Ms. Kristel Kate Palomata and her involvement in the Lin-ay kang Patnongon (LKP) 2026 crowning ceremony, and clarifies any misconceptions regarding the recognition of her efforts.
We acknowledge that Kristel Kate Palomata proudly represented Patnongon in LKA 2025. While she held a title within the LKP organization, it is important to clarify that Ms. Palomata was crowned Reyna Kang Udyakan 2025, not Lin-ay kang Patnongon.
Therefore, it would be inappropriate to imply a transfer of the "REYNA KANG UDYAKAN 2025" crown to "LIN-AY KANG PATNONGON 2026" from someone who did not originally hold that specific title.
We also wish to address claims that Ms. Palomata's efforts were not recognized. This is incorrect. The Local Government Unit (LGU) is immensely honored, proud, and thankful for Ms. Palomata's significant efforts in representing Patnongon in LKA 2025. To underscore this recognition, the LGU Patnongon provided every support she asked for or needed during LKA 2025, including substantial financial assistance, transportation, and other necessities.
In further recognition of her contributions, we extended an invitation for her to participate in the crowning of Lin-ay kang Patnongon 2026. This invitation was extended in January, and Ms. Palomata initially agreed. During these discussions, Ms. Palomata requested financial assistance for makeup services payment/gown rental payment, and a gas slip for her transportation from Iloilo to Antique, all of which the LKP 2026 Committee readily agreed to provide. Indeed, the LKP 2026 Committee and the LGU were fully prepared to tell her story and publicly acknowledge their pride and gratitude for Ms. Palomata's significant efforts and contributions to Patnongon during the Grand Coronation Night. However, regrettably, just this February 20 in the morning, on the very day of the Grand Coronation Night, Ms. Palomata declined this invitation. She cited her desire to deliver a farewell speech and walk, a request which the committee respectfully could not accommodate. We must reiterate that a farewell walk and speech are traditionally reserved for titleholders who are relinquishing the specific crown they previously won, implying they held that title initially. As Ms. Palomata did not win or hold the Lin-ay kang Patnongon crown, providing a farewell walk and speech in that context would not align with the established protocols of the pageant.
In light of recent discussions, we urge all Patnonganon to engage in thorough research and fact-checking before believing or disseminating unverified information that may contain malice and negative intention. It is crucial to rely on official statements and credible sources to ensure accurate understanding.
Thank you and God bless us all!
