Since the dawn of time, women have stood as the architects of existence—the bridge between the void and the living. To celebrate women is to acknowledge a power that is simultaneously as unyielding as a mountain range and as delicate as the first light of dawn.

In the heart of the Philippine archipelago, this power was once recognized and revered through the Babaylan. These women were the original polymaths of society: healers, priestesses, warriors, and philosophers. They were the heartbeat of the community, mediating between the seen and unseen, proving that leadership is not just about command, but about profound connection. The Babaylan reminds us that a woman’s "natural place" has never been on the sidelines; she has always been at the helm of spiritual and social governance, maintaining the balance of the universe with a wisdom that transcends the physical.

As the centuries turned, the roles may have shifted, but the essence remains indestructible. Today’s woman is a living paradox—a delicate power that shatters stereotypes with the grace of a falling petal and the impact of a crashing wave. Society often tries to label and limit her, yet she consistently breaks through these glass boxes. We see this courage in the natural leaders who rise from the most challenging of circumstances.

True leadership is not found only in boardrooms; it is forged in the fires of resilience. It is found in the single mother who performs the daily miracle of providing, balancing the world on her shoulders with a quiet, defiant strength. It is found in the widow who transforms her grief into a legacy of independence, and the divorced woman who chooses to redefine her worth on her own terms. We see it in the teen mothers who grow up in an instant to protect their children, and the survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence who refuse to be defined by what was done to them.

These women are not victims; they are proof of courage and strength who have walked through fire and emerged with hearts of gold and iron. By choosing empathy over ego and collaboration over conquest, women are changing the very definition of authority. They prove that vulnerability is not a weakness, but a bridge to authentic connection. They demonstrate that courage is not the absence of fear, but the decision that something else—be it a child, a career, or a cause—is more important.

From the ancient Babaylan to the
modern-day survivor, women continue to be the keepers of the flame and the breakers of chains. They are the sole givers of man and the primary nurturers of society’s soul. Their existence is the most compelling epic ever told—a story of a strength that does not need to shout to be felt, and a love that is the only force capable of truly changing the world.

In today’s age, unseen personalities rise from the pit of society—personalities made from different perspectives, emotions, and chosen identities. The LGBTQIA+ community has always been a flaming controversy in the Philippines. People from different regions had different thoughts; many disagreed, and some ended up questioning themselves if they should support the social movement. However, if we take a deeper look, those people do not only defend what they think they identify as; they also yearn for a space where comfort isn’t something that they will continue to rally on in their daily lives.

LGBTQIA+ represents a diverse group of people. They are often characterized as “humans who crave self-expression," which is an ironic thing, because self-expression is a right given to us from the moment we are born. And now, these people are forced to fight for a chance to express themselves in front of countless faces. This contradicts the never-ending war about gender equality and the fight for equal rights.

As a solution, the government should take a stand. Give them rights. Hand them freedom. We should not limit our own kind with the rights they should’ve had.

Hopefully, this issue will soon tone down. The society should not leave them unseen. They should give them the rights to be seen and respected without crossing any religious-centered beliefs and ideologies that change the way the world sees them.

We should treat them as our own, for they are just longing for a corner in the vastness of the world where they will feel free to reveal their selected orientation.

On February 4, 2026, the Office of the Ombudsman gathered the bright minds of the Campus Integrity Crusaders (CIC) at SM Aura, Taguig City, for a high-impact Training on Leadership.

With the theme about: "I Fight Corruption with Integrity," the event provided student leaders with the tools to recognize, resist, and lead against the tide of corruption. From insightful modules on the causes of corruption to practical strategies for "Leading with Integrity," the event was a call to action for every young crusader to identify, resist, and stop corruption.

We are proud of our CIC LIPAD members for stepping up to the challenge. True leadership isn't just about position—it's about the courage to do what is right, even when no one is looking.

B**g Revilla's picture. History has once again repeated itself. With a background of corruption, it's easy to conclude that he lacks integrity. But what is integrity?

According to the Oxford dictionary. Integrity is "the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.".

Honesty with strong moral principles are the essence of integrity. Examples of integrity are: transparent, accountable, and trustworthy

The lack or absence of integrity is punished in society, no matter the class, status, name or relations. Like B**g Revilla, facing prosecution and imprisonment for his participation in the controversial floodcontrol anomaly.

[ MORAL LESSON ] Integrity is a trait every contributing member of society should have. Giving and taking what is righteous for the work given. Greed and dishonesty goes against the very nature of God's creation and our human nature.
