Sa pagdiriwang natin ng ika-128 anibersaryo ng pagpapahayag ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas, ginugunita natin kung paano napagtanto ng iba't ibang mamamayan ng ating kapuluan na bumubuo tayo ng iisang sambayanan at ating, “ipinahayag ang kanilang pasiyang isakatuparan, gaya ng kanilang aktuwal na isinakatuparan, ang kanilang sariling soberanya”. Mula sa sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani, nakamit natin ang ating Soberanya at Kalayaan.

Sa ating pagsisikap na itaguyod ang pagkakaisa at pagkakabuklod-buklod, patuloy nating tinatamasa ang karapatang maging mga tagapamandila ng liwanag ng kalayaang ito. Sa ating pagsasakripisyo sa pagsulong ng kaunlaran para sa bawat Pilipino, pinapahalagahan natin hindi lamang ang dignidad ng bawat isa, ngunit pati ang kaginhawaan ng ating mga pamayanan at buong bansa.

Kaisa ang UA&PUFM sa mahalagawang gawain ng pagtataguyod ng karapatan at kabutihan ng mga manggagagawa para sa ikauunlad ng ating pamantasan at bansa. Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan!

WATCH: Federation of Free Workers National President Atty. Sonny Matula, Defender ng Manggagawa 's Video Message to members of UA&PUFM and UA&P Union of Allied Employees for their victory in DOLE.

FFW and Atty. Matula provided indispensible support to both UA&PUFM and UA&PUAE during the pendency of the labor dispute. We look forward to continue working with FFW and Atty. Matula on issues of common interest to the workers of UA&P and the labor sector of the Philippines.

Pangunahing layunin nitong palaganapin ang talino sa pamamagitan ng paglikha ng mga tulâng nakasulat sa wikang Filipino na nagpapamalas ng masiglang partisipasyon ng mga makata sa mga rehiyon ng bansa. Bukás ang timpalak sa mga dalít, diyóna, at tanagà na nakasulat sa wikang Filipino na pumapaksa tungkol sa tema ng Buwan ng Panitikan 2026 na “Bekët (Bigkis) Panitikan sa Katwiran at Kalikasan”.

Thank you, UST Faculty Union (USTFU): for standing in solidarity with our union, sharing valuable resources, imparting advice, and giving us this congratulatory message! It is heartening and encouraging to know that our UA&P unions are supported by established and strong unions like USTFU.

In our fight to achieve our maiden CBA, we learned an important lesson: unions are measured not just by the strength of our numbers, but also (and most of all) by the collective resolve of members to fight for the common good.

We look forward to continue working with USTFU and our allied unions as we exercise solidarity and advocate for educators' welfare at the national and local levels!

Thank you for heeding our call, Chairperson Agrupis! We hope that open dialogue and an extensive, multisectoral, and nationwide consultation be done to reform GE while retaining its main goal: form students who are future-ready, civic-minded, productive, morally conscious, and humane members of Philippine society.

"The announcement came a day after teachers, students, and advocacy groups filed a consolidated petition and separate position papers asking CHED not to proceed with its proposal to reduce GE units to 18 from the current 36."

UA&PUFM, represented by its President Ferdinand Delos Reyes, was one of nineteen (19) faculty group representatives who participated in the dialogue with CHED Chair Agrupis. We consider this the first of hopefully more wins in our advocacy for the retention of Humanities subjects in the Reframed General Education Curriculum.

UA&PUFM will continue our dialogue, policy advocacy, and collaboration with CHED and collective action with other labor unions to fight for the soul of Philippine higher education. We thank you for your continuous support.

The announcement comes a day after teachers, students, and advocacy groups filed a petition asking the Commission on Higher Education not to proceed with its proposal to reduce general education units.
