The Pasig City Youth Development Office (PCYDO), in partnership with the Pasig City Youth Development Council (PCYDC), successfully conducted a Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP) Orientation for the 22 recognized student organizations of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP) on July 20 at the PLP Function Hall.
The orientation aimed to prepare student organizations for their registration under the National Youth Commission's Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP), equipping student leaders with a comprehensive understanding of the accreditation process, registration requirements, and the benefits of becoming a duly recognized youth organization.
The activity was spearheaded by Bryan Sanson, Outgoing PLP Student Regent and Chairperson of the PCYDC Committee on Global Mobility, as part of the Council's continuing initiative to expand YORP implementation among higher education institutions in Pasig City following a series of exploratory meetings conducted in the previous month.
Serving as resource speaker was Ms. Arvie Amistoso Salosa, who discussed the YORP registration process and guided participating organizations through the accreditation requirements. The activity also forms part of the implementation of PCYDC Resolution No. 03, s. 2024, principally authored by Rosken Ravelo Casiano, which promotes the expansion of the Youth Organization Registration Program across higher education institutions in the City of Pasig.
The orientation gathered officers and representatives from the University's recognized student organizations and was attended by officers of the PLP Supreme Student Council, the Commission on Student Election-COMSELEC, and representatives from the Student Success Office-Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig, who provided support in the successful conduct of the activity.
Through initiatives such as the YORP Orientation, the PCYDO and PCYDC continue to strengthen youth organizations by promoting good organizational governance, increasing youth participation, and expanding opportunities for student organizations to engage with national youth development programs.
