SIKAT’s mission is to uplift the lives of Filipinos living in unelectrified rural communities using Renewable Energy (RE) projects. SIKAT works with various organizations to deliver on its mission. SIKAT is an accredited org

anization by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification, Inc. (PCNC), a science-based foundation accredited under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and a member of The Association of Foundations.

The partnership seeks to create sustainabile interventions for off-grid unelectrified communities in Rizal and Mindoro. First Balfour, with the active involvement of its employee-volunteers, will share technical and professional expertise to help address key needs such as quality education, livelihood development, health and wellness, and improved communication.

IN PHOTO: Sikat signed a Memorandum of Agreement with SGV for its Liwanag sa Sitio Program

Sikat was represented by its President Denardo Cuayo and Vice President Odie Maddatu, while SGV was represented by its Chief Sustainability Officer Clairma T. Mangangey.

Facilitated through SGV Foundation, Inc. (SGVF), this initiative between the two parties aims to uplift the quality of living in off-grid unelectrified communities in Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro.

The MOA signing was held at the SGV office in Makati City. SGV Chairman Wilson P. Tan, SGVF Board of Trustee member and Assurance Partner Christine G. Vallejo, SGVF Executive Director Maria Regina O. Maldonado, and SSCFI Executive Director Catherine Cabrillos were also present during the MOA signing.

Sikat installed its DC system at Shepherd's Home in Alaminos Pangasinan last August 1. Pangasinan was severely affected by the habagat rains last July. It may take months before regular power resumes in the area. The system will provide light to the home and allow the brothers to charge their mobile phones.
