The ICMIF Foundation Mutual Microinsurance Network Seminar, held on June 17–19 in Makati City and San Pablo City, successfully brought together microinsurance practitioners and industry stakeholders for meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and learning exchanges.

MiMAP, together with its project partners, shared the challenges encountered and lessons learned in scaling mutual microinsurance through the Insurance Innovation Challenge Fund projects implemented in partnership with UNDP and ICMIF.

The seminar explored the value of the mutuality approach in microinsurance, highlighted the journey of CARD Mutual Benefit Association as a pioneer and innovator in the sector, and provided valuable insights on the opportunities, challenges, and lessons learned in replicating the mutual microinsurance model across different organizations and communities.

As part of the program, participants also conducted an exposure visit to CARD Mutual Benefit Association, where they gained firsthand knowledge of its operations, member-centered services, and best practices in delivering inclusive microinsurance.

The Solvency & Risk Protection Committee (SRPC) successfully convened its meeting today, June 16, 2026, through a hybrid setup, with participants attending both in person at the MiMAP Office and via Zoom videoconferencing.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Camilo Casals and attended by committee members Ms. Silvida Antiquera, Ms. Ma. Lourdes Quesea, Ms. Teresa Gonzales, and Atty. Jomer Aquino, together with the MiMAP Secretariat.

Key agenda items discussed included the Valuation Data Gaps and Corresponding Recommendations, the Reclassification of Lapsed Memberships, Member Statistical Data Mapping, and the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The meeting provided an important venue for reviewing key financial and operational matters, aligning priorities, and identifying actionable recommendations that will support decision-making and the continued growth of the Association.
