Excerpt from the PZPI Chairperson and Youth Advocacy Committee Chair, Dir. Adzhar J. Madjid’s Message on the Occasion of 12th Annual Commemoration of Declaration of World Peace - Poster Making Awarding Ceremony at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig.

24 May 2025 - Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig

To our esteemed guests, participants and fellow peace advocates. Greetings of Peace everyone at Magandang Hapon sa ating lahat.

My courtesy to HWPL’s Chairman Man Hee Lee, a global advocate of peace, for his works and dedication commemorating the 12th Declaration of World Peace.

On September 2015, I spoke before thousands of audience in Seoul, South Korea representing the International Peace Youth Group in the World Alliance of Religions Peace Summit. We promised then to support an international law for the cessation of war by establishing the Peace Zone Philippines Initiative (PZPI).

On March 2016 in Gangnam, South Korea, we witnessed - as member of the HWPL Publicity Ambassador - the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War or DPCW. It was formally signed into document by members of the International Law experts. Several milestone has been achieved since the declaration.

And Today, it is with great honor and excitement that I welcome you all to this wonderful initiative and the Awarding itself - the Poster Making Contest with the powerful and timely theme: “The Future of Peace and Prosperity.”

This year HWPL’s Theme is testament to continuity and sustainable efforts, upang ipagpatuloy ang malawakang panawagan for a “Free Movement of People Across the Korean Peninsula”.

Such an overarching theme is a representation of one of the many countries that calls upon a free and peaceful movement of people in different countries across our 7 continents. From the Korean Peninsula to the strip of Gaza, from a local free movement in the islet of Mindanao, to a global peaceful initiatives in the European countries.

We are not just gathered to celebrate peace initiatives through posters. We are here to share and support similar visions, ignite hope, and spark conversations that matter - towards achieving a global peace. Bawat poster represented today speaks louder than the picture canva itself, as saying goes, “a piece of picture speaks a thousands words” — carrying the dreams, concerns, and voices of a generation that believes in a brighter and peaceful future.

The world is turbulent. There are challenges that often divide us but too many opportunities are within reach to unite us, for indeed ‘We Are One’ in humanity. This Poster Making contest reminds us of our shared responsibility — using our creativity to imagine and work toward a future where peace is not just a dream, but a daily reality, and prosperity is not just for some, but for all.

Your artworks are more than just a color on canvas. It is a message to the world. Let your imagination run free, let your heart speak through your designs, and let your work inspire change.

Young ladies and gentlemen, and to my fellow peace advocates. Let us be reminded, that we are making a positive impact through your continuous participation, and as I formally welcomes you, please accept our sincere “thank you” on behalf of the Youth Advocacy Committee of IPYG and the HWPL.

In our shared thought, our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said “Khairun’nas anfa’uhum lin’nas”

“The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.”

Thank you for being here, for participating, and for believing in the power of art to make a difference.

We thank our fellow peace advocates especially the Core members of our Youth Peace Advocacy Committee present here. Prof. Mark Lataza of PLP, Ma’am Robee Balisi, Miss Gianna Dizon, Sir Danilo Mocsin of KGI Cotabato, our vice chair, joining us offsite, and our IPYG Philippines Coordinator and Secretariat Miss Jovie Olayon, and the members of IPYG and HWPL.

Our sponsors and guests, Arc. Alfred Carandang, Chairman of PCCI Quezon City Chapter, Japanese Artist Mr. Hiro San joining us via Zoom, Miss Lea Velasco of PLP, the participants with their parents here and online.
