Deliberation on House Bills 157 and 3577 entitled similarly "An Act Mainstreaming the Use of Bamboo as A Sustainable Material for the Built Environment" with far reaching integration in academia, licensure exam, CPD, supply chain and construction codes. This came from a draft through a meeting and workshop hosted by Bukidnon 1st District Representative Cong. Hon. Jose Manuel Alba with the Philippines' first green architecture oriented organization GreenAP last October 2023 and was further deliberated last 19th Congress which was unfortunately cut short due to elections and was refiled for the current 20th Congress.

The current House Bills 157 and 3577 were authored by Cong. Alba and Leyte 3rd District Cong.Anna Victoria Veloso Tuazon respectively.

Ar/EnP Sly Seño currently serves as the GreenAP Chair and concurrently Adamson University College of Architecture Dean. GreenAP chairpersonship was held for the longest time by past Chair and Current PRC-Board of Architecture Member Ar Miguel Guerrero FUAP APEC AR, who are both resource persons for the current HB 157 and 3577 deliberations.

GreenAP is the Philippines' longest running multidisciplinary green architecture organization.

Collaborative Meeting of the GreenAP with the House of Representatives - UN SDG Committee and the Climate Change Commission (CCC) 9.15.2025

After a productive, yet contentious meeting at Congress, by the GreenAP Chair/concurrently Adamson Architecture Dean Ar./EnP. Sly Seno AA, together with GreenAP Immediate Past Chair Ar Lui Daya-Garcia AA, GreenAP Finance Director Ar. Armando Tantoco, with the House of Representatives 1st District Representative for Bukidnon and concurrently HoR UN-SDG Chair Hon. Jose Manuel Alba, Climate Change Commission (CCC) Executive Director Hon. Robert Borje (serving also as CCC Vice Chair to the Philippine National President), and the House of Representatives UN- SDG Committee and CCC Secretariats.

The lengthy discussion earlier covered at least three (but not limited to) programs aligned with sustainable, climate smart and humane settlements - one building prototype at Bukidnon, a national design competition (involving architecture schools and UAP/PIA chapters) and the forthcoming Green Summit (GreenAP's 22nd forum) this November which will involve leading personalities in the green building and construction academia and industries. All of these shall be in the context of the government's National Adaptation Plan (NAP), and the GreenAP's Triple S Approach (Survivability, Self-sufficiency and Sustainability) in the specter of climate emergency.

The last above-mentioned project will be a series of plenary sessions, FGDs and workshops as inputs to the crafting of relevant House Bills under the said UN SDG Committee.
