Rising energy prices are becoming a more visible pressure point for businesses in the Philippines. It is showing up in operating costs, planning cycles, and day-to-day decisions.

Energy efficiency is one of the areas within our control. Small changes in daily habits and systems can reduce both cost exposure and energy demand over time.

Which of these steps is already part of your workplace, and what is still difficult to implement? Let’s continue the conversation.

People believe what they can see, and sustainability is no different.

Drink Sustainability Communications, alongside Basecheck, has focused on making that possible. Since 2010, they have been translating complex data and net zero progress into something visible, accurate, and open to businesses and their stakeholders.

NZCA’s first three-year impact report stands as a reflection of this approach, where net zero is shared in ways that invite participation and dialogue.

Just like any other partnership, intention is not enough for net zero.

It needs shared accountability, reliable data, and a clear understanding of who does what. NZCA works alongside its partners to create that structure.

When clear roles and systems are in place, progress becomes sustained and trustworthy.

Net zero doesn't happen in headlines. It happens in alignment, data, and consistent follow-through.

That was the focus going into the Q1 Assembly held in March 25. Updates covered framework improvements and baseline assessments through the Net Zero Gateway.

Assembly host GHD shared how sustainability is embedded in its projects and operations, including its Makati Office as a working example.

NZCA now includes 44 partner-doers, with most of them sharing their progress. Among those reporting, more than 21% are already using renewable energy. Numbers that point to clear movement.

Business is changing in response to a changing climate.

Labor Day is a moment to recognize the people doing the work behind net zero. Teams are adjusting how decisions are made, how projects are delivered, and how performance is measured.

In the Philippines, the private sector leads the shift in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. Decision-makers, employees, communities, and future generations are all part of the positive outcome.

Here’s to an economy that supports both people and the planet.

Holistic solutions, not isolated ones, will define the way forward for climate action.

As NZCA builds a comprehensive platform of decarbonization tools, resources, and services for our partners, we return to two key pathways.

Net zero underpins crucial energy resilience for businesses through efficiency and clean energy systems.

We experience the consequences every day.

This is our why. NZCA exists to align efforts across the private sector to protect our operations, our people, and our environment.

What does net zero look like in practice? Discover how our partners are leading the transition in our new series, Inside NZCA.

First in the spotlight is our founding company, Energy Development Corporation (EDC), a First Gen Group Company—whose 50-year geothermal legacy is guided by its Pentad Stakeholder Model.

NZCA celebrates this milestone, recognizing EDC’s enduring role in powering geothermal energy for the Philippines’ energy security future and now representing the First Gen Renewables Geothermal brand.
