Young Movers Participates in AFTGG Project K4 Webinar on Climate Action and Resilience

The Alliance of Competent Young Movers (ACYM) participated in the Project K4: Kapaligiran, Klima, Kamalayan at Kaalaman – Hindi ‘Weather Weather’ Lang! webinar organized by the Ambassadors for the Global Goals (AFTGG) on September 26, 2026, conducted through Google Meet and Facebook Live.

The webinar brought together young people and youth organizations for a discussion on climate change, environmental concerns, disaster risk reduction, resilience, and the role of the youth in advancing climate action.

Project K4 centered on the premise that awareness must be translated into meaningful and collective action. The program explored how young people can better understand environmental and climate-related challenges affecting communities and contribute to long-term solutions.

Among the speakers were G-ar Barrientos, who discussed *From Relief to Resilience: Why the Philippines Must Invest in Long-Term Climate Solutions*; Rachelle Junsay, who tackled *From Awareness to Action: Why Young People Must Lead the Fight for Climate Justice and Resilience*; Niña Fegi, who discussed *Hindi Lang Ulan: Understanding Floods, Hazards and Disaster Risk in the Philippines*; and Paulo Allan Umale, who presented *Hindi Lang Awareness: Turning Environmental Concerns into Collective Action*.

The discussions highlighted the interconnected nature of climate change, disaster risks, environmental concerns, and community resilience. The speakers also emphasized the importance of informed youth participation and collective efforts in responding to environmental challenges.

For ACYM, its participation in the webinar forms part of the organization's continuing engagement in youth development, environmental awareness, governance, and initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Project K4 was organized by AFTGG in partnership with various youth organizations and institutions, with ACYM among the organizations that supported the initiative through its collaboration with the organizers.

The webinar underscored a central message of the initiative: addressing the climate crisis requires more than awareness. It calls for informed communities, sustained engagement, and collective action, particularly from young people who have an important role in shaping responses to environmental challenges.

54 NA TAON NG PAGGUNITA, PAGLALABAN, AT PANININDIGAN.

Walang patay-malisya ang makapagtatago sa katotohanan ng mga buhay na nawala sa kamay ng pamahalaang ipinangakong magiging tahanan ng mga anakbayan. Walang libingan ang makapaglilihim sa mga bakas ng korupsiyon, karahasan, at pagmamalabis sa kapangyarihan. At walang salansan ng mga kasinungalingan, gaano man kapormal ang pagkakalahad, ang makapipilipit sa kasaysayang binayaran ng dugo, luha, at sakripisyo.

Sa likod ng mga mararangyang sapatos ng Ginang sa Palasyo ay ang mga yapak ng isang sambayanang nagtiis sa ilalim ng diktadura. Habang ang karangyaan ay naging sagisag ng kapangyarihan, ang takot, pang-aabuso, at kawalan ng katarungan naman ang naging mapait na karanasan ng maraming Pilipino. Hindi kailanman dapat manaig ang kinang ng karangyaan sa katotohanan ng pagdurusa ng bayan.

54 na taon na ang lumipas, ngunit nananatiling sariwa ang mga sugat ng Batas Militar. Marami pa rin ang hindi natatagpuan. Marami pa rin ang naghahanap ng katarungan. At ang mga tinig ng mga nakibaka at lumaban para sa kalayaan at demokrasya ay patuloy na umaalingawngaw sa bawat henerasyong nagmamana ng kanilang ipinaglaban.

Ang paggunita ay hindi lamang pagbabalik-tanaw sa nakaraan. Isa itong paninindigang huwag hayaang maulit ang mga pang-aabuso, huwag hayaang manaig ang kasinungalingan, at huwag hayaang mabaon sa limot ang mga aral ng kasaysayan.

Sa araw na ito, nakikiisa ang Alyansa ng Young Movers sa sambayanang Pilipino sa pag-alala sa mga biktima ng Batas Militar at sa patuloy na pagsusulong ng katotohanan, katarungan, kalayaan, at pananagutan.

Hindi natin kailangang maranasan muli ang dilim upang maunawaan ang halaga ng kalayaan. Tungkulin nating alalahanin, matuto, at manindigan.

Hindi limot. Hindi tahimik. Hindi susuko.

The Executive Officers of Young Movers convened virtually via Google Meet on September 20, 2026, for their 2nd Regular Meeting to review ongoing operations and align on key organizational initiatives.

​Presided over by the Organization Chairperson, the meeting focused on evaluating critical pending matters across multiple operational fronts. Central to the agenda was a progress report on current program implementations, alongside status updates on active membership and application drives designed to expand the organization's network.

​The executive board also evaluated several external invitations received over recent weeks and reviewed the trajectory of ongoing strategic partnerships to ensure aligned organizational growth moving forward.
