Building stronger partnerships for gender-responsive development.

SPARK! Philippines recently met with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) to discuss collaborations aimed at strengthening the agency’s Gender and Development (GAD) programming through women’s economic empowerment, girls’ rights and education, and other impactful initiatives for the benefit of its stakeholders.

We cannot wait to realize these shared plans and initiatives that will create safer, more inclusive, and empowering spaces for women and girls across communities. Stay tuned for more updates!

“Filipino women are often the most diligent managers of household finances, tracking every expense, making sure everyone else is taken care of. But managing money and growing money are two different things. Somewhere along the way, the second one gets handed off. The assumption that someone else will handle it has cost more women more than any market downturn ever has.”

“I didn’t go into finance because I loved markets. I went into finance because I wanted to learn how to be truly financially independent. At the time, I couldn’t have told you exactly why that felt so urgent. I just knew it did,” Alessandra Araullo, Chief Investment Officer for Institutional and Wealth Advisory of ATRAM Group, wrote.

Read more about Araullo’s path toward financial independence through the link in the comments section.
