College Youth Club Participates in the 41st International Coastal Cleanup Drive
Today, September 19, 2026, the College Youth Club (C*C) participated in the 41st International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Drive held at Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach, Roxas Boulevard, Manila City. The activity brought together the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), students, volunteers, representatives from different schools, government employees, and various organizations to promote environmental awareness and help protect our coastal areas.
During the activity, participants worked together to clean the coastal area by collecting scattered garbage and other waste materials found along the beach. Everyone shared their time, effort, and cooperation to help maintain the cleanliness of the surroundings. The event also provided an opportunity for students and volunteers to learn more about the importance of proper waste disposal, environmental responsibility, and teamwork in protecting our marine environment.
Together with the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) 112th Squadron, we also participated in the ICC activity held at the Las Piñas–Parañaque Wetland Park. Through this activity, we joined fellow volunteers in helping clean and preserve the wetland area, which plays an important role in maintaining a healthy coastal ecosystem.
In addition, the College Youth Club proudly sent one of its dedicated officers to represent the organization and participate in the same environmental initiative in Rosario, Cavite. Through this effort, C*C was able to extend its participation and support for the ICC beyond the other locations where our members were present.
The ICC was not only about collecting trash but also about encouraging everyone to become more responsible in caring for the environment. It reminded us that even small actions, when done together, can make a meaningful difference in protecting our seas, coastal communities, and marine life.
As members of the College Youth Club and future maritime professionals, this experience strengthened our commitment to environmental protection, teamwork, and community service. It also reminded us of our responsibility to help preserve our marine environment, which is an essential part of our future profession.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful activity and to contribute to the goal of keeping our coastal areas clean, safe, and sustainable for future generations.
Together, let us continue to protect our seas, care for our environment, and inspire others to take part in meaningful actions for a cleaner and greener future.
