International Lions Clubs conduct cross-border volunteer work
The Hongcheon Mugunghwa Lions Club (President Oh Seong-ryong) under the International Lions Clubs Association and the Cavite Asmepps Lions Club (President Dexter Midas Deferia) in the Philippines conducted a joint briquette sharing volunteer activity in Bukbang-myeon, Hongcheon-gun on the 15th, practicing the warm love of neighbors.
This volunteer work was carried out with the cooperation of the corporation "Neighbor" (President Park Hak-cheon), and members of both clubs directly delivered 500 briquettes to a vulnerable household that had difficulty with heating. Even in the sweltering heat, the members sweated as they carefully carried the briquettes.
President Oh Seong-ryong of the Hongcheon Mugunghwa Lions Club said, "It was meaningful to be able to share warmth with the local community through international cooperation. We will continue to lead the way in volunteer work with the local community."
President Dexter Midas Deferia of the Philippine club also said, "Today, when we practiced sharing together across borders, was very moving. Based on the friendship between the two clubs, I would like to continue cooperation and exchange."
This activity was a precious time to deliver hope to neighbors who need continuous help regardless of the season and to reaffirm the value of international solidarity.
