Yesterday, May 28, 2026, the Guidance and Counseling Department held Ginhawa ng Isip, Gaan ng Puso: Kalusugang Pang-Kaisipan para sa mga Magulang at the Barangay Tambo Livelihood Room.
The afternoon began with a seminar for parents led by Mr. Andrew D. Cudel, Head of the GCD. More than sharing information about mental health, the activity created a space for learning, reflection, and meaningful conversations about the challenges parents face and the importance of caring for their own well-being.
The program also marked the start of a larger initiative. Following the seminar, interested parents participated in intake interviews conducted by members of the Student Affairs and Services Directorate as part of the screening process for possible referral to free mental health consultation and counseling services through our partner, In Touch Community Services, Inc.
This initiative was made possible through the support of the Tytana community. We would like to thank the Tytana CEO, Tytana College Student Council, Tytana Psychology Society, and Junior Marketing Association - Manila Tytana Colleges for partnering with us in our fundraising efforts. We are equally grateful to the students, employees, alumni, and supporters who donated, purchased fundraising items, volunteered their time, and helped spread the word.
What started as a simple fundraising effort has grown into an opportunity to connect selected parents from Barangay Tambo with professional mental health services. This initiative is a reminder of what a community can accomplish when people come together for a shared cause.
Yesterday was not the end of the project. It was only the beginning. ๐
Maraming salamat, Barangay Tambo, for welcoming us into your community.
