Pagpupugay sa mga Natatanging Alagad ng Sining

Kamakailan lamang, isinagawa ng Pasay City Culture and Arts Council, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Pasay City Local Government Unit sa pamumuno ng Punong Lungsod Hon. Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, ang isang espesyal na pagkilala sa mga natatanging alagad ng sining na mga taga-Pasay at may makabuluhang ambag sa larangan ng kultura at sining.

Ang makabuluhang proyektong ito ay pinangunahan ni Gng. Tess Calixto-Robles, kapatid ng ating Punong Lungsod, na patuloy na nagsusulong ng pagpapahalaga sa sining, kultura, at mga tradisyong bahagi ng ating pagkakakilanlan.

Ang pagkilalang ito ay hindi lamang isang pagpupugay sa kanilang mga natatanging talento, kundi pagkilala rin sa kanilang patuloy na kontribusyon sa mas malawak na mundo ng sining at kultura.

Ang Malibay Baseball Club
Dumating ang baseball sa Pilipinas nang ipakilala ito ng mga puwersang militar ng U.S. noong 1898.
Ang lumang larawan ay kuha noong huling bahagi ng 1950s, ipinapakita ng Malibay Baseball Club ng ating koponan na manlalaro suot ang custom na long-sleeve jersey na may tatak na Malibay / ST. JOHN. Nakaupo sa gitna ang manager ng koponan (maneger ang baybay sa jersey), May mga nakrus na kahoy na bat, pudpod na leather glove, at hardball.

This photograph is from my mom's graduation album. It features members of the Arellano University marching band, which used to offer free education to its members before the scholarship program was discontinued in the 1990s.
Most of their scholars came from community groups such as the Kalayaan Band, Kasarinlan Band, San Juan Nepomuceno Band, and El Gobernador, among others. The majority of these scholars hailed from Cavite, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Makati, and Pasay—which was known as Rizal City back then—and many families in Malibay were given the opportunity to study at the university through this program.

Batang 80’s ,90’s! Can anyone else still remember the incredible spirit of World Youth Day back then? Unearthing history! Rediscovered our barangay contingent in 1995 as public officials at Rizal Park for the 1st World Youth Day—marking 31 years since this unforgettable gathering with no cellphones, no gadgets, just pure presence and heavy film cameras. Guided by the late Msgr. Bautista, Father Odon Francia , and the powerful call of "As the Father sent me, so am I sending you" to the anthem "Tell the World of His Love," we stood proud in faith and service. Even found these rare, unfiltered shots of the cardinals arriving from their bus!
