📣 Exprésate is here to remind to of the rights you have. As a person, as a citizen of this country, and as a human being on this planet. We are here to encourage of the freedom that each and every one of us has. To speak for yourselves, to stand by your rights, and to express yourselves freely.

Do you know the one thing that 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨, 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙨, and the 𝙜𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 have in common?

It’s that they all have the right to express themselves freely. Each of them has the capability of making a change, a difference, and a movement to influence the society that we live in. A place where in we could all speak up and not have the fear of being persecuted.

You may wonder, what are the possible outcomes that our advocacy may have regarding the three people mentioned above? 🤔

📚 Students: would have a deeper knowledge regarding the occurring events that involve the act of expressing oneself all around the world.

🖊Journalists: would be empowered through abolishing the fear of being criticized and oppressed whilst doing their jobs.

🏛 Government: would know and see the bigger picture of what is truly happening behind the cameras regarding the chance of citizens of their countries in having the liberty of conveying their ideas.

𝘉𝘖𝘕𝘐𝘍𝘈𝘊𝘐𝘖 𝘋𝘈𝘠

📣 Every 30th of November, Andres Bonifacio is being commemorated for his heroic act. The founder and Supremo of the Katipunan. He is recognized as one of the national heroes of the Philippines.

📣 The Katipunan's goal was to fight for the freedom against the Spaniards. The stand to have an independent Philippines. The "katipunan" word can also be conveyed as an "association", "gathering", assembladge", or "group" which came from the root word "tipon" as it means to be a "gathering".

📣 Bonifacio led this organization to stand against the Spanish colonial regime. Just like Bonifacio took courage and fought for our freedom, it made the Philippines free from the hands of the Spaniards and ergo the proclamation of independence of the Philippines behind the 333 years of Spanish colonialism.

📣 This can serve as an evaluation and a motivation to take up a stand, never be afraid to fight for your worth and freedom just like what Bonifacio did. Precisely to what the other heroes did and fought for what we have now. Let us take this into mind and emulate what Bonifacio fought for us, in unison let us fight for what we think is right, fight for our worth, fight for our freedom.

𝙒𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙠 𝙪𝙥 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙? 🤔

Should we remind you that according to Article 3 of the Philippine Constitution of 1987 states that no law shall be enacted that restricts freedom of speech, expression, or the press.

📣 Therefore, freedom of speech or expression is a constitutional right in the Philippines. Meaning to say that every Filipino citizens have a right to speak up or as we would like to say ✨𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗘 ✨

📣 Although it may seem that even with this constitutional right, there have been countless censorship between numerous people. Self-censorship and government oversight of the media contribute to the atmosphere in which most Filipinos are unable to access trustworthy, accurate information in important issues.

⚖ The government should be reminded of its constitutional obligation to respect, promote, and protect the right to free speech. It is an alarming appearance that few of the general population of the media are doing protest regarding the loss of freedom of expression ⚖

As we take part on this advocacy, we would like to encourage you to join us. Let us spread free speech. Let us "educate ourselves", "listen to our surroundings", "support and stand with each other", and "practice freedom of speech". Doing this advocacy, would create a deeper undestanding of the substantial importance of knowing each individual's right and freedom of expression. Empower the rights not just for the journalist, commentators, broadcasters, but also for all the people that deserve, have, and use their rights to express their thoughts freely.
